What are cervical warts?

For female friends, it is important to prevent the occurrence of cervical warts, because cervical warts are an increasingly common gynecological disease in modern women. The main cause of cervical warts is papillomavirus, so cervical warts are contagious. More importantly, cervical warts can easily be transmitted to female friends’ sexual partners during sexual intercourse. Today, let us learn about cervical warts.

1. Causes of cervical warts

The main cause of genital warts is direct sexual contact, accounting for 95% of the incidence. Indirect transmission includes sharing underwear, bedding and pedicure knives. People who are infected with genital warts virus or virus carriers can easily spread the virus to their sexual partners through sexual intercourse. They can also be infected when the vulva skin and mucous membranes come into contact with pathogenic and dirty objects, such as bath towels, bathtubs, underwear, medical supplies, etc.

2. Complications of cervical moisturizing

Cervical warts are caused by human papillomavirus infection, which can cause warts of various shapes to grow on women's labia majora, vaginal opening, urethral opening, vaginal wall, etc. At the same time, the virus can also infect the cervix and cause cervicitis. People do not pay enough attention to this. Many patients only focus on the treatment of obvious warts on the vulva, but ignore the hidden dangers caused by the virus invading the cervix.

Cervical HPV infection increases the risk of developing cervical cancer. Early and thorough treatment of genital warts can help reduce the incidence of cervical cancer. The use of colposcopy can detect atypical epithelium, atypical blood vessels and early cancer in the cervix at an early stage, and accurately select suspicious areas for biopsy. Cervical warts are very harmful to women and may affect fertility if not treated in time.

3. Prevention of cervical warts

1. Please remember to wipe from front to back after using the toilet, because the anus may bring a lot of bacteria, so please do not wipe from the anus to the genitals after using the toilet to reduce the chance of infection. Do not flush the vagina, because the vagina has the function of self-cleaning, and deliberate flushing will be harmful.

2. It is best to wash underwear by hand with mild soap, and do not use strong detergent or washing machine. Wear cotton underwear and try not to wear nylon or synthetic fiber materials to keep it ventilated and breathable.

3. Resolutely put an end to sexual promiscuity: 60% of patients with genital warts are infected through sexual contact, which not only brings physical pain, but also causes family discord and mental stress. Therefore, improving sexual morality and avoiding extramarital sex are important aspects of preventing the occurrence of genital warts.

4. Prevent contact transmission: Do not use other people's underwear, swimsuits and bathtubs; do not wash in the basin in public baths, it is recommended to shower, and do not sit directly on the bathtub seat after bathing; try to use squat toilets in public toilets; wash hands with soap before going to the toilet; do not swim in swimming pools with high density and poor disinfection.
