Large fetus in late pregnancy

Large fetus in late pregnancy

Many pregnant women will become very nervous when they reach the late stage of pregnancy, and will go for prenatal checkups more frequently. If they find that their fetus is too large, they will be very worried. This will actually have a significant impact on their natural delivery. Therefore, it is still necessary to strictly calculate the data of your fetus, especially the biparietal diameter of the fetus. If it is too large, it is very bad.

In fact, if you want to have a natural birth, you don’t just need to look at the biparietal diameter, you need to consider three major factors. The biparietal diameter is only an indicator to measure whether the fetus is developing healthily. There are three points to consider when judging whether the mother can give birth naturally. The first is the birth canal, the second is the labor force, and the third is the development of the fetus.

The birth canal is composed of the bony birth canal and the soft birth canal. If there is an abnormality in the bony birth canal, such as it becomes narrow or deformed, then a normal birth will undoubtedly not be possible and may even result in a dystocia. So mommy should do a good job of prenatal check-up.

The pregnant women on TV have to exhale and inhale when giving birth, and try their best to pull the baby out. So the labor force refers to the force of uterine contraction and the abdominal pressure generated when the mother holds her breath. The mother must have a strong physique to give birth to the baby successfully. However, if the baby grows too large, it will be very difficult for the mother to give birth to the baby, and a caesarean section may be required.

It is unscientific to determine the gender of the baby based on the biparietal diameter and femur length. We can only say that the biparietal diameter and femur length can be used to estimate the weight and size of the fetus. The long diameter of the femur refers to the length of the fetal thigh bone. It can be estimated based on the biparietal diameter. For example, if the biparietal diameter is 8.0 cm, the long diameter of the femur is 6.0 cm. If the femoral length and biparietal diameter combined are greater than 17 cm, the baby will be very large.

Method 1 for estimating fetal weight:

Formula: Fetal weight = biparietal diameter * 900-5200 (g)

Method 2 for estimating fetal weight:

Head circumference HC, abdominal circumference AC, femur length FL, fetal leg subcutaneous fat thickness FTH

Formula: Estimated fetal weight = -5168.32 + 100.97HC + 110.86AC + 143.09FL + 331.43FTH

The third trimester refers to the period from the 28th week of pregnancy to the end of delivery (40 weeks), which includes the three months of pregnancy: August, September and October. (30-32 weeks) - After entering the late pregnancy, the intensity of fetal movement will gradually weaken. However, since many pregnant women lack certain medical knowledge, they are afraid that the weakening of fetal movement is due to some problems with the baby. However, this kind of thinking will cause pregnant women to feel anxious invisibly, which is extremely detrimental to the development of the fetus.

Experts say: In the late pregnancy, pregnant women should pay attention to the number of fetal movements, not the strength of the fetal movements. Because in the late stage, the baby has grown in size and his limbs can bend, but there is no extra space in the uterus to restrict the fetus's movement in the mother's belly. Therefore, it is normal for the fetus's movement to weaken. Under normal circumstances, the average number of fetal movements in the morning, afternoon and evening is 5-10 times. It is abnormal if the average is less than 5 times.
