What should I do if the follicle tension is poor?

What is a follicle? In medicine, the definition of a follicle is the ovary in the mammalian body. The follicle is the most basic functional unit, which directly affects reproductive health. Therefore, in daily life, if women want to have children, they should pay attention to the development of their follicles in a timely manner so that problems can be discovered and dealt with in time. So, what should we do if the follicle tension is poor?

Don't be anxious. Eggs without enough tension are of poor quality. It will take at least two days for them to become mature follicles, and they may be released at any time. You should relax now so that the quality of the eggs can be good. Under normal circumstances, the size of mature follicles should be 17-25mm. Yours can be conceived, so don't worry too much.

Ideas for artificially inducing follicle maturation:

(I) Sex hormone induction method:

Before sexual maturity, the pituitary gland has not yet secreted gonadotropin in large quantities, and there are a large number of primordial follicles/primary follicles in the ovaries, and their developmental stages are relatively consistent. By stimulating the proliferation of granulosa cells in follicles with estrogen and inducing follicle maturation with gonadotropin, it is possible to obtain a large number of mature follicles with relatively uniform development. Then, the immature oocytes and granulosa cells are recovered from the follicles, and nutritional factors are added in vitro to promote and improve the maturation (rate) of the oocytes.

(B) Follicle culture method:

The follicles are directly removed from the ovaries and cultured in vitro to promote their maturation, allowing a large number of follicles to avoid atresia. When the follicles are cultured in vitro, the oocytes and granulosa cells still maintain their original relationship. Adding a certain amount of hormones and factors can make the follicles develop and mature synchronously.

(III) Semi-follicle culture method:

A semi-follicle is a follicle with partial thecal cells and complete cumulus cells. This half-follicle can be used to study and understand the relationship between various types of cells in a more complete follicle to promote its development and maturation.

(IV) Using tissue engineering technology to obtain mature eggs:

First, the theca cells are cultured on the hollow fiber, and then the naked eggs or cumulus cell complexes are placed in to simulate the follicular fluid environment to mature the oocytes.

(V) ES cells are cultured and developed into eggs:

ES cells are omnipotent. After transfection of appropriate genes in vitro, adding appropriate differentiation-inducing factors to the culture medium can direct ES cells to differentiate into oocytes. The oocytes used for in vitro maturation today come from three types of follicles: tiny, relatively dormant primordial follicles; medium-sized growing follicles; and large follicles that are on their way to maturation and ovulation. Although the in vitro maturation culture conditions for these three types of follicles are different, the core issue to be solved is the maturation of the nucleus and cytoplasm, in order to improve the in vitro maturation rate of oocytes or the success rate of further development. Therefore, it is advisable to improve the in vitro maturation culture system on the existing basis so as to achieve the complete oogenesis process, oocyte maturation, fertilization and further normal development in vitro; and identify the maternal factors necessary for completing preimplantation development.
