Girls have too high testosterone

Girls have too high testosterone

Under normal circumstances, the hormones in the human body are generally divided into androgens and estrogens. Usually, the two hormones are coordinated with each other. However, if the androgen secretion in women is too high, it will have a great impact on women's health. For example, women will become obese, have infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea, etc. Severe cases may also affect future fertility. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to it. What should girls do if their androgen secretion is too high?

Causes of high testosterone

1. Insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are one of the causes. It can stimulate the ovaries to secrete large amounts of androgens.

2. During the biosynthesis of steroid hormones, the enzyme system is disordered. For example, if there is a lack of aromatase, androstenedione cannot be converted into estrone, and testosterone cannot be converted into estradiol, resulting in excessive accumulation of androstenedione, especially testosterone.

3. Some male hormones are also too high, mainly due to adrenal and ovarian tumors, adrenal cortical hyperplasia, hyperprolactinemia, and Cushing's syndrome.

4. Excessive secretion of the ovaries or adrenal cortex. 60% of testosterone is combined with beta globulin in the blood, called testosterone-estradiol binding globulin (TEBG). About 38% (mainly androstenedione) is combined with albumin. Free testosterone accounts for only 2%, but it is active. If the amount of TEBG bound to estradiol increases and the amount of bound testosterone decreases, the amount of free testosterone in the blood will increase.

Excessive levels of male hormones generally lead to obesity, infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea, and skin problems. The most common disease is polycystic ovary syndrome. If the final examination confirms that it is polycystic ovary syndrome, symptomatic treatment will be needed based on the causes of the disease. Of course, at the same time, it can also be improved through some living methods.

How to regulate high testosterone

1. Say no to carbonated drinks

Beverages contain a lot of carbonic acid. Frequent drinking will affect the body's absorption of calcium and reduce the digestive ability of the stomach and intestines.

2. Eat more foods rich in fiber

Fiber foods can help the body eliminate excess estrogen, reduce the risk of tumors caused by excess estrogen, promote gastric motility, and reduce constipation. Such as: vegetables, beans, barley, buckwheat, etc.

3. Eat more legumes

Why is it always mentioned that women should eat more bean foods? Especially soybeans, which can effectively supplement natural plant hormones into women's bodies, bidirectionally regulate the hormone balance in the body, and play a role in regulating endocrine.

4. Diet and daily routine during menstruation

If a woman suffers from dysmenorrhea, she can brew 3 slices of ginger with brown sugar water and drink it twice a day. This can relieve dysmenorrhea. During this period, she should not eat cold or spicy food, keep a light diet, have a regular work and rest schedule, and not stay up all night.

5. Don’t eat too much sweets and salt

Because excessive intake of sugar in the body can cause mood swings and easily lead to negative effects such as anxiety. However, overly salty food is not conducive to the discharge of water from the body and will affect the normal ovulation of the ovaries. In severe cases, it will damage the ovaries and cause irregular menstruation.
