What's wrong with growing taller during pregnancy?

Adolescence is the best time to grow taller. After the physical development period, it becomes very difficult for us to grow taller because our height is basically fixed. However, some pregnant women find that they have grown taller after becoming pregnant. This sudden abnormality is definitely very surprising, but it is not clear whether it is good or bad. So, what happens if you gain height during pregnancy? Let’s take a closer look below.

It can be roughly summarized into the following three aspects.

1. The pelvis is fully stretched and the spine is straightened

After pregnancy, as the fetus grows day by day, the female pelvis will gradually be stretched, which is why the hips are relatively wider after giving birth. As the uterus grows, pregnant mothers have to hold their waists and lean their whole bodies backward to maintain their balance. This may stretch your spine, which may have been too straight before, so you may feel that you have grown taller after giving birth.

2. The epiphyseal line has not yet completely closed

From a scientific point of view, whether a person can grow taller mainly depends on whether the epiphyseal line is closed. If the epiphyseal line has closed and is completely calcified, if you want to grow taller you can only try the method of the crazy Russian doctor, but I don't dare to try it. For some women, the closure time of the epiphyseal line may be later than that of ordinary people. Adequate nutrition after pregnancy can promote the further development of the human body, and of course there is a possibility of growth in height.

Three: Balanced nutrition during pregnancy and sufficient calcium

After pregnancy, in order to provide adequate nutrition for the baby in the belly, meals should include vegetables, meat and fruits, which are rich in protein and nutrients, and of course calcium, which can promote the development and growth of human bones. During pregnancy, pregnant mothers pay special attention to calcium supplementation and absorption, which helps you grow taller to a great extent. After pregnancy, as the new life in the belly continues to grow, the hormone secretion in the expectant mother's body will also undergo tremendous changes, and the original hormone levels will increase significantly. Therefore, the bones of expectant mothers may grow further under various stimuli.
