Black nipples during pregnancy, is it a boy or a girl?

Now our country has laws that explicitly prohibit the determination of the sex of the fetus. This is to protect some baby girls, because there are still many families that have a strong preference for boys over girls. This will lead to abortions if a woman is found to be pregnant with a girl. This is not only unfair to the child, but also harmful to the female body. However, some people still judge boys and girls based on pregnancy reactions. So, does black nipples during pregnancy mean it is a boy or a girl?

Can you tell the gender of the baby from the changes in the body?

After pregnancy, parents are always very concerned about whether they are carrying a boy or a girl. According to folk rumors, they can tell whether the baby is a boy or a girl by looking at the fetal heart rate, changes in the pregnant woman's nipples, whether the pregnant woman's abdomen is bulging, changes in the sweat hair on the legs, and the color of urine during pregnancy. Are these folk tales actually true?

1. The fetal heart rate is lower than 140 beats/min. Is it a boy?

Unscientific

Although the heart rate of adult men is lower than that of adult women, there is almost no difference in the heart rate of men and women in the fetal period, and the gender of the fetus cannot be determined by the fetal heart rate. Fetal heart rate varies, and the difference depends on the stage of fetal development. Normally, at five weeks of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate is closer to the mother's heart rate (80 to 85 beats per minute). At nine weeks of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate will increase significantly (170 to 200 beats per minute). In the second half of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate will slow down (120 to 160 beats per minute).

Although the fetal heart rate cannot reflect the gender of the fetus, it can reflect the degree of development of the fetus and can also promptly reflect some problems of the fetus, which parents need to pay attention to.

2. If the nipples are dark after pregnancy, will it mean that a boy will be born?

Unscientific

During pregnancy, the phenomenon of dark nipples in pregnant women is mostly caused by the excessive secretion of some hormones (estrogen and progesterone), which is normal. After giving birth, this melanin deposition phenomenon will improve. This is not a basis for determining the sex of the fetus in the body.

3. Can the shape of the abdomen and stomach accurately predict the gender of the fetus?

Whether the abdomen is protruding: If the expectant mother’s abdomen is too protruding, it means the baby is a girl. If the abdomen is not obviously protruding or the lower abdomen is more protruding, it means the baby is a boy.

Pointy or round belly: If the expectant mother's belly is rounder, it is a girl, while if the belly is pointy and lower, it is a boy.

Not scientific

(1) Whether the abdomen is protruding

Whether a pregnant woman's belly is prominent depends on whether her upper body is long enough. If a woman is taller, her belly will not be too protruding because there is enough space in her upper body for the fetus to grow. If the pregnant woman's upper body is not long enough, the fetus in her body will push her abdomen outwards in order to find space for growth, making her abdomen appear protruding.

(2) Pointed or round belly

The sharpness or roundness of a pregnant woman's belly is determined by factors such as the pregnant woman's body shape, fat, and pelvic shape, and has nothing to do with the gender of the fetus in her body. Generally speaking, pregnant women with large bodies have rounder bellies because their pelvises are wider. Pregnant women with thin bodies have pointed bellies because their pelvic entrance is small.

It is useless and unrealistic to try to determine the gender of the baby in the womb by whether the abdomen is bulging or the roundness of the belly.
