What is the cause of vaginal pain at 36 weeks of pregnancy?

Pregnant women cannot be careless about physiological issues, because women's bodies are weak and can be easily invaded by various viruses and bacteria, causing serious gynecological problems. In addition, physical fitness declines during pregnancy, and physiological problems can easily affect the development of the fetus. There are many most common physiological problems during pregnancy, such as genital pain, etc. Let’s take a look at what causes genital pain at 36 weeks of pregnancy?

About two weeks before delivery, the fundus of the uterus will drop for first-time mothers. At this time, the pregnant woman will feel relaxed in the upper abdomen, her breathing will become smoother than before, the uncomfortable feeling of stomach pressure will be relieved a lot, and her appetite will increase accordingly. As the fetus descends, the part that will be exposed first during delivery has already dropped to the entrance of the pelvis, causing distension in the lower abdomen and compression of the bladder. At this time, you will feel back pain and leg pain, difficulty walking, and frequent urination.

In the last few weeks of pregnancy, cervical secretions increase and pregnant women feel that their vaginal discharge increases. Normal cervical secretions are a viscous liquid, which usually forms a mucus plug in the cervix to prevent bacteria from invading the uterine cavity. During pregnancy, this secretion is more abundant and thicker.

As the uterus contracts regularly, this mucus plug is discharged with the contractions that begin with labor; and due to the separation of the fetal membrane at the endometrium and the uterine wall, there is a small amount of bleeding. This bleeding mixes with the uterine mucus plug and is discharged from the vagina, which is called red show. Showing blood is a relatively reliable sign that labor is about to begin. If the amount of bleeding is greater than the usual menstrual volume, you should consider whether there is any abnormality. It may be placental abruption and you need to go to the hospital for examination immediately.

Vulvar pain in the late pregnancy is mainly caused by these pre-delivery symptoms. Female friends should not be too stressed and just let the gas flow naturally. If the pain is severe, you can seek help from a doctor and ask the doctor to use some auxiliary pain relief methods. However, medication is generally not recommended at this time because it has a serious impact on the fetus.
