Is the morning urine test for ovulation dark or shallow?

Many people think that it is very simple to test whether the morning urine is deep or shallow during ovulation, so they often test it by themselves at home. However, due to incorrect methods or inaccurate test time, it is often impossible to test whether it is the ovulation period, and the test often fails. Therefore, this still requires further examination to confirm the diagnosis. Let's take a look at the correct examination method.

Men can help their partners detect ovulation

1. Ultrasonic testing

Ultrasound is the most accurate method to monitor follicular development. It can continuously and directly observe the morphological changes of follicles, understand the whole process of follicular development and ovulation, and determine whether ovulation has occurred. Generally, continuous ultrasound observation begins on the twelfth day of the menstrual cycle to observe changes in the diameter of the follicles, once every other day until the egg is released. Under normal circumstances, the follicles grow about 2mm to 3mm per day. They grow faster near ovulation and can reach 3mm to 4mm. The characteristics of mature follicles are that the maximum diameter of the follicles exceeds 20mm, the shape is full, the inner wall is thin, and the position moves to the surface of the ovary. The follicles disappear after ovulation. Continuous monitoring shows that the follicles continue to grow before ovulation. When the largest follicle disappears, it indicates that ovulation has occurred.

2. Monitor basal body temperature

Basal body temperature is the temperature measured after resting for 6-8 hours, before getting up, eating or talking. Basal body temperature is usually the lowest body temperature of the human body during the day. The basal body temperature of normal women of childbearing age changes cyclically, just like the menstrual cycle, and this temperature change is related to ovulation. By measuring basal body temperature, we can initially understand whether a woman has ovulated and the condition of the corpus luteum function after ovulation.

1. First, you need to buy a basal thermometer. The basal thermometer is different from the general thermometer. Its scale is denser, and generally 36.7 degrees Celsius (24 on the scale) is used as the boundary between high and low temperatures.

2. Download and print a basal body temperature chart, record the measured body temperature every day, and make it appear as a wavy line;

3. It is best to place the thermometer next to your pillow. When you wake up in the morning, place it under your tongue and measure for three minutes before talking or moving, and record it on the basal body temperature chart.

4. If you have a cold or fever, drank alcohol the night before, or used an electric blanket, your body temperature may not be accurate;

5. Menstruation and sexual intercourse days must be marked with additional signs. In case of fever, excessive drinking, late sleep and late rise, etc., which may affect body temperature, special notes should also be made.

3. Ovulation test paper

Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). It can be used to qualitatively detect luteinizing hormone (LH) in human urine, thereby determining the time of ovulation and achieving the purpose of choosing the best time for conception. It is an in vitro test and auxiliary diagnosis for women's ovulation period.

The instructions for different ovulation test strips may vary slightly, but in general it is best to use urine from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the best time being between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Also don't drink too much fluid in the two hours before the test.

Ovulation testing should start one week after menstruation, and should be done once a day until ovulation is confirmed. That is, when the test shows a weak positive turning into a positive, start by testing twice a day. When it shows a strong positive, test every 4 hours. When you see the color getting darker, or even suddenly getting lighter, the ovulation period has begun.
