Can oral anti-inflammatory drugs eliminate uterine fibroids?

Can oral anti-inflammatory drugs eliminate uterine fibroids?

For female friends, the uterus is one of the most important reproductive organs. However, due to some special reasons, the uterus is very susceptible to viral and bacterial infections. Among them, uterine fibroids are a very common benign tumor with a very high incidence rate. Treatment can be assisted by taking anti-inflammatory drugs. Let’s take a look at whether oral anti-inflammatory drugs can eliminate uterine fibroids.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system, with a reported clinical incidence as high as 20% in women over 30 years old. However, since most uterine fibroids have no or very few symptoms, the reported clinical incidence is much lower than the actual incidence of fibroids.

Uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids are common during childbearing years and are related to hormones. Most fibroids will shrink or disappear after menopause. If fibroids continue to grow after menopause, you need to be alert to the possibility of fibroid cancer.

The symptoms caused by fibroids are mostly related to the location of the uterus. In most cases, there are no obvious symptoms and they are only discovered accidentally during a physical examination. The most common symptoms are:

Increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstrual period

It is the most common symptom of uterine fibroids. Fibroids occupy the normal uterine muscle tissue, but they cannot play the role of contracting the uterus. They are like a ball of inelastic rubber band, unable to make the uterus contract normally. Therefore, it affects the contraction of the uterus during menstruation, increases the menstrual flow, and prolongs the menstrual period. If this continues for a long time, it may cause anemia, leading to discomfort such as palpitations and dizziness, and you need to seek medical attention in time.

Lower abdominal mass

If the fibroids are very small, they cannot be felt. If the fibroids gradually grow and make the uterus exceed the size of a 3-month pregnancy, a lump can be felt in the abdomen. This is because the lower abdomen contains not only the uterus, but also other pelvic organs, such as ovaries and small intestine and colon. Sometimes, even poor bowel movements and accumulation of fecal stones may form a palpable lump, or the fibroids in the lower part of the uterus may develop downward and prolapse out of the vagina. Therefore, you should see a professional outpatient to avoid delaying the disease and diagnosis and treatment.

Increased leucorrhea

When some submucosal fibroids exist for a long time, once infection, ulceration, necrosis, etc. occur, purulent leucorrhea may occur, and even have a foul odor, which affects the health of the reproductive tract and requires treatment.

Compression symptoms

The uterus is located in a trapped position in the abdomen, with the bladder in front and the rectum behind. Normally, they live in harmony without squeezing the other. If the fibroids grow to a certain size, it will squeeze the bladder forward, causing frequent urination, urgency or difficulty urinating, and press the rectum backward, causing constipation, etc.

Acute abdominal pain

Most fibroids have a typical structure, but some fibroids may have unexplained structural changes, which we call fibroid degeneration. During pregnancy or after childbirth, some fibroids will undergo red degeneration, which is a manifestation of fibroid necrosis. At this time, lower abdominal pain and fever will occur. In addition, some fibroids are connected to the uterus only by a thin pedicle, which may twist during strenuous activities, causing acute abdominal pain and may require surgical treatment.
