How should pregnant women touch their belly?

After pregnancy, as the pregnant woman's belly becomes bigger, she often can't help but touch her belly. A pregnant woman’s belly can be touched, but it must be done correctly, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. If the method is inappropriate, it may have some adverse effects. Pregnant women are more familiar with these details. So, how should pregnant women touch their belly? Let’s look at the method in detail below.

1. Back and forth stroking method

Implementation month: You can do some back and forth stroking exercises after 3 months of pregnancy.

Specific method: When the expectant mother's abdomen is completely relaxed, she can use her hands to stroke back and forth from top to bottom and from left to right. In your mind, you can imagine that your hands are really caressing the cute baby, feeling a sense of joy and happiness, and thinking affectionately: "Little baby, mommy really loves you", "Little baby feels so comfortable", etc.

Note: The movements should be gentle and the time should not be too long, 2 to 5 minutes each time.

2. Touch, press and tap

Implementation month: After 4 months of pregnancy, you can perform gentle touching, pressing and patting exercises in addition to touching.

Specific method: The expectant mother lies flat on her back and relaxes her abdomen. First, she strokes her abdomen from top to bottom and from left to right with her hands, and gently presses and lifts with her fingers. Then, she gently presses and pats to give the fetus tactile stimulation. Generally, after a few weeks of persistence, the fetus will respond, such as slight body movement, turning of hands and feet, etc.

Note: Start with 5 minutes each time, and then increase to 5 to 10 minutes each time after the reaction is formed. When pressing and patting the fetus, the movements must be gentle. The expectant mother should also pay attention to the fetus's reaction. If she feels the fetus struggling or kicking, it means he does not like it, and she should stop immediately.

3. Promote walking method

Implementation month: After 6 or 7 months of pregnancy, when the expectant mother can clearly feel the fetus' head, back and limbs in the abdomen, you can add push walking exercises.

Specific method: The expectant mother lies flat on the bed, relaxes her whole body, gently strokes, presses, and pats her abdomen back and forth. At the same time, she can also gently push the fetus with her hands to let the fetus "take a walk and do exercises" in the womb.

Note: This exercise should be performed under the guidance of a doctor to avoid abdominal pain, uterine contractions, or even premature birth due to improper or excessive force. Do it for 5 to 10 minutes each time. The movements should be gentle and natural, with even and appropriate force, and avoid being rough. If the fetus twists its body back and forth forcefully, the expectant mother should stop pushing immediately and gently stroke the abdomen with her hands, and the fetus will slowly calm down.

Patting and exercise methods are not suitable for those who are less than 3 months pregnant, are close to the due date, or have early uterine contractions.

According to obstetricians and gynecologists, umbilical cord around the neck mostly occurs in the early and middle stages of pregnancy. During this stage, the umbilical cord is long and there is a lot of space. When the fetus moves, it is very likely that the umbilical cord will be wrapped around the neck one or two times. Some people will automatically return to normal, and it has nothing to do with whether the belly is touched or how the touching technique is used.
