What color is abortion during pregnancy

During the pregnancy process, miscarriage is probably something that no one wants to see. But many times, miscarriage is uncontrollable, such as problems with the development of the fetus, physical conditions of the pregnant woman, or trauma to the pregnant woman's body. Generally, bleeding is the most typical sign of miscarriage, and there will also be severe abdominal pain. So, what color is pregnancy miscarriage? Let’s take a look below.

What color is abortion blood?

Spontaneous abortion is caused by decidual bleeding after the embryo separates from the uterine wall. It is usually dark red with blood clots, and contains decidua and embryonic tissue. If the amount of bleeding is heavy, it may be bright red with some black. This means that the bleeding is small and flows slowly. It has stayed in the uterine cavity for a while and becomes old blood.

What color is ectopic pregnancy bleeding

Generally, the color of a small amount of vaginal bleeding in the early stage is bright red. Of course, the diagnosis cannot be confirmed based on the color of vaginal bleeding alone. It is necessary to go to a regular hospital's gynecology department for a pregnancy test and B-ultrasound examination to make a preliminary diagnosis. Any pregnancy in which the fertilized egg implants anywhere outside the uterine cavity is collectively called an ectopic pregnancy, commonly known as an ectopic pregnancy. It is different from a normal pregnancy and will have typical symptoms such as vaginal bleeding and lower abdominal pain.

Generally, bleeding occurs within 6-8 weeks of pregnancy. The color of the bleeding is bright red, not like menstrual blood, and there is a tearing pain afterwards. Of course, vaginal bleeding alone cannot be used to determine an ectopic pregnancy. You should go to the hospital for a professional diagnosis. The posterior fornix puncture method can be adopted. Since the blood in the abdominal cavity is most likely to accumulate in the rectouterine pouch, even if the amount of blood is not much, it can be sucked out through the posterior fornix puncture. Use an 18-gauge long needle to pierce the rectouterine pouch from the posterior fornix of the vagina. Aspirating dark red, non-coagulated blood is a positive result, indicating the presence of intra-abdominal blood. When an ectopic pregnancy occurs, the structural characteristics of the fallopian tube itself restrict the growth and development of the fertilized egg, preventing it from growing to full-term pregnancy. Therefore, ectopic pregnancy can cause acute massive bleeding. If not treated in time, it can lead to hemorrhagic shock or even death of the patient. Early detection and early treatment are of great significance.
