Some women may have special physical conditions and experience dysmenorrhea during menstruation, and some may even experience heavy bleeding. How to provide first aid for heavy menstrual bleeding?

First you need to stop the bleeding:

1. Place a clean cloth or towel (preferably sterile gauze) on the wound and apply direct pressure for about 10-20 minutes to stop the bleeding.

2. After the bleeding stops, bandage the wound gently with a bandage, being careful not to wrap it too tightly, just enough to stop the bleeding, and then go to the hospital for treatment.

3. Do not use absorbent cotton or straw paper to pad the wound, and do not apply medicine on the wound.

Disinfect within 6 hours to prevent infection and suppuration

After bleeding or injury, you should immediately wash with tap water filtered by a water purifier, disinfected well water, or cold boiled water. There is no special need for disinfection. Once the wound is contaminated, suppuration will generally not occur as long as it is adequately disinfected within 6 hours. However, if the wound is caused by a blade or other object, and the object remains in the body, and is not adequately cleaned within 6 hours, the wound will become festered. Also, remember that no matter what causes the wound, there is a possibility of tetanus, so take preventive measures immediately.

Even in the hot summer season, it is not advisable to eat ice cream and other cold drinks during menstruation. It is better to eat warm food, which is conducive to smooth blood circulation. 2. Avoid spicy and sour food, and eat light food. Menstruation can often make people feel very tired, weakened digestive function, and poor appetite. During menstruation, the diet should be light and easy to digest. 3. Eat a combination of meat and vegetables to prevent iron deficiency. Women usually lose about 30-50 ml of blood each time during menstruation, and each ml contains 0.5 mg of iron, which means that 15-50 mg of iron is lost each time menstruation. Iron is one of the essential elements for the human body. It not only participates in the synthesis of blood proteins and various important enzymes, but also plays an important role in immunity, intelligence, aging, energy metabolism and other aspects.
