The private parts that we usually talk about are actually the labia minora. The labia minora are located on the inner side of the labia majora, extending from the clitoris to the frenulum. They are composed of connective tissue rich in blood vessels, so they appear pink on the surface and are covered with stratified squamous epithelial tissue. The front part of the labia minora is divided into two parts, the inner and outer parts. The outer parts on both sides combine to form the foreskin of the clitoris, while the outer parts form the frenulum of the clitoris.

The labia majora are two arc-shaped skin folds made of fat that can be seen from the outside. In fact, there are many pubic hairs, sweat glands and sebaceous glands on the skin on the outer side, while the inner side is smooth and hairless, which can surround and protect other external genitalia. The structure of the private parts is very complex and sensitive, and some incorrect maintenance concepts can cause harm to the private parts. For example, the labia is an environment with a pH of about 4. There are many lactobacilli in the vagina that maintain a healthy vaginal environment. Under normal circumstances, the number of other bacteria is very small. However, if there is external interference (especially the use of detergents) or self-vaginal washing, bacterial proliferation and infection may occur.

The labia minora can be said to be the gatekeeper of the private parts. When the legs are put together, the two labia minora will naturally close together, completely covering the urethra and vaginal opening. Not only can they protect these two parts from injury due to friction, they can also prevent external infection and keep the vagina moist.

With the opening of concepts, female friends not only pay attention to the comfort and health of their private parts, but also have requirements for "beauty". Gynecologists will tell female friends not to be shy about observing their private parts, because changes in appearance can tell whether there is an infection. If you notice redness, swelling, heat, pain, excessive secretion, changes in smell and color, itching, or other uncomfortable symptoms on the vulva, you should see a doctor immediately.

Specialists say that the most common problem with the labia minora is that they are too long. If the labia minora are too long, it will be detrimental to the discharge of vaginal secretions and will be difficult to clean. Urine will easily remain near the genitals after urination, which will not only increase secretions but also cause odor problems. In the outpatient clinic, many older female friends have seen gynecologists for repeated infections and their problems were not cured until surgery.
