Scalp scab after hair dyeing

Scalp scab after hair dyeing

People should be familiar with hair dyeing. Hair dyeing can greatly enhance a person's fashion sense, and after choosing the right color, it can make the whole person's skin look whiter and more transparent. However, hair dyeing can also cause certain harm to human health, especially when the hair dye chosen is not regular. Some people may find scalp scabs after dyeing their hair. What should they do if scalp scabs appear after dyeing their hair?

What to do if hair dye causes scabs on the scalp

Scabbing on the scalp after dyeing hair is caused by residual drugs in the hair dye irritating the scalp. It is recommended to stop dyeing your hair and seek medical treatment as soon as possible.

You need to stop using hair dye immediately, and similar hair dye products should be banned in the future. Also rinse your hair thoroughly to remove any dye residue. Then receive timely and effective treatment under the guidance of a doctor. General oral anti-allergic drugs, such as diphenhydramine or deschlorohydroxyzine, 1 tablet of 25 mg, 3 times a day. You can also choose 10 ml of loratadine, which has no drowsiness effect, once a day. In case of severe allergic reaction, corticosteroids may be used in combination. While taking oral medications, you can also use 3% boric acid solution to clean the affected areas, then soak 4 to 6 layers of gauze in boric acid solution and apply it to the affected areas 3 times a day. This will help to reduce erythema and swelling of the lesions and to dry up the exudate.

What should I do if hair dye gets on my scalp and can’t be washed off?

1. Wipe with cold perm lotion

If hair dye gets on your skin, you can wipe it with perm lotion. The color will fade after a few gentle wipes. However, this method is quite harmful to the skin. If you don't want to use it, try other methods.

2. Wipe with ash

You can wipe it with a wet towel dipped in cigarette ash, which will be more effective. Or you can drop a few drops of water into the cigarette ash, dip your hand in it and rub it on the area stained with hair dye. This method is very simple and will not hurt your hands.

You can also use diluted alkaline water to wash it. If it is still stubborn, you can use ammonia water, which is very effective.

3. Wash with rice vinegar

If hair dye gets on your clothes or skin, the simplest way that does not harm the skin is to apply rice vinegar to the clothes dyed with hair dye or to the skin that is accidentally stained with hair dye, leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it with water. This method is simple and effective, but it is not suitable for dealing with clothes that have been contaminated by hair dye for too long and should be dealt with as soon as possible.
