What happens if the placenta is low

It is a very difficult process for women to get pregnant. A normal fertilized egg will implant inside the uterus, but the implantation position of the fertilized embryo is different. Some pregnant women have a higher implantation position, while others have a lower one. The lower one is closer to the cervical opening. As the pregnancy cycle increases and the fetus grows, especially in the late pregnancy, the placenta becomes larger as the cervical opening grows, and signs of miscarriage may easily appear.

As the months go by, the position will change, but there is no need to worry. Just observe it during the prenatal check-up. Also, the low placenta is related to the gestational age. If it is before seven months, there is no need to worry too much, there will be a lot of room for recovery. But if it is after seven months, you must always pay attention, because some people have a low placenta, which is a sign of premature birth.

Low placenta may be related to the following factors: ① Imperfect endometrium. Postpartum infection, multiple births, IUD insertion, multiple curettage and curettage, cesarean section and other surgeries can cause endometritis, endometrial defects and insufficient blood supply. In order to absorb sufficient nutrients, the placenta compensatorily expands its area and extends to the lower segment of the uterus. ② The fertilized egg develops slowly, and when it reaches the uterine cavity, the trophoblast has not yet developed to the stage where it can implant, so it continues to be transplanted into the lower segment of the uterus. ③ The placenta area is too large. For example, most gestational discs often extend to the lower part of the uterus, forming placenta previa.

In the late stages of pregnancy, you should be especially careful and avoid traveling after 32 weeks, but you should also avoid excessive mental stress. There is no direct danger to the fetus and the mother. It may be that a natural birth cannot be performed due to the bad position of the placenta, in which case a caesarean section will be performed. In short, just follow the doctor's advice and there is no need to worry too much.
