Is pelvic inflammatory disease serious in women?

It is generally known that pelvic inflammatory disease is more common in women. If women do not pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, they are prone to pelvic inflammatory disease after childbirth, or if there is inflammation in nearby organs, it may also cause pelvic inflammatory disease. Therefore, female friends should pay great attention to their personal hygiene and physical health in their daily lives. If they feel unwell, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up. Is pelvic inflammatory disease serious if it happens to a woman?

Since pelvic inflammatory disease is very harmful to women, if it is not treated in time, it may cause serious harm such as irregular menstruation and infertility. Therefore, it is very important to detect and treat it in time! Why did pelvic inflammatory disease come to you?

Pelvic inflammatory disease can be divided into two categories: acute pelvic inflammatory disease and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease:

1. Acute pelvic inflammation

Symptoms: Lower abdominal pain, fever, increased vaginal discharge. The abdominal pain is persistent and worsens after activity or sexual intercourse. If the condition is severe, there may be chills, high fever, headache, and loss of appetite. The disease occurs during menstruation, with symptoms such as heavy menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation.

Doctors point out that further development of acute pelvic inflammatory disease can cause diffuse peritonitis, sepsis, septic shock, and in severe cases can be life-threatening. Therefore, if women have similar symptoms as mentioned above, they need to seek medical attention in time to avoid delaying the treatment of the disease.

2. Chronic pelvic inflammation

Symptoms: Distension and pain in the lower abdomen and soreness in the lumbar region, which often worsens after fatigue, sexual intercourse, and before and after menstruation. The second is abnormal menstruation and irregular menstruation.

Doctors point out that if the above symptoms occur, it is generally due to the failure to treat acute pelvic inflammatory disease or the patient's poor physical condition and prolonged course of the disease. If the course of the disease is long, some women may experience symptoms of neurasthenia such as lack of energy, general discomfort, and insomnia. If not treated in time, it will often be long-lasting and recur, leading to infertility and fallopian tube pregnancy, seriously affecting women's health.

Work is important, but health is more important. To avoid disease, it is recommended that women have regular gynecological examinations and not give diseases the opportunity to threaten your health.
