Why does my period come early?

Why does my period come early?

Some women have unstable menstrual cycles and their periods always come a few days late, while others often come a few days early. Occasionally, it happens one or two times early, and only three or four days early. It’s actually not a big deal, because many women experience this. If menstruation comes 7 days in advance, it is necessary to find out the cause and treat it accordingly. So, why does menstruation come early? Let’s take a look together.

1. Causes

1. Caused by organic disease or drugs

Including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition of the reproductive organs; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid.

2. Caused by endocrine disorders

The main problem is that the function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is unstable or defective, that is, menstrual disease.

3. Caused by excessive yang energy in the body

People who have excessive yang energy, or who consume excessive spicy food and supplements, or who are depressed, or who have lost a lot of blood due to long-term illness, are prone to having hot blood. When the blood becomes hot, it flows more slowly and the rate of blood flow also increases, causing menstruation to come earlier.

4. Qi deficiency

Because the spleen is the "manager" of blood, once the "manager" is in a weak position, the "managed" will inevitably want to rebel, so menstruation comes early.

5. Blood heat

People with excessive Yang energy, or those who are depressed, or who eat spicy food and take supplements, or who have lost a lot of blood due to long-term illness, are very likely to develop blood heat. When the blood is hot, it will flow faster and will cause menstruation to come early.

2. Precautions for self-treatment

1. It is not advisable to participate in heavy labor or intense activities before and during menstruation.

2. Avoid eating foods that generate fire and increase heat, such as chili peppers, garlic, leeks, lettuce, cinnamon, coffee, pepper, lamb, dog meat, venison, and alcohol. Eat less shark, crab, hawthorn, peach, brown sugar and other foods that have blood-activating effects.

3. An irritable mood will hinder menstrual regulation, so it is better to be open-minded, calm and optimistic.

3. Prevention

1. Maintain a cheerful spirit, avoid mental stimulation and mood swings. Some people may experience lower abdominal distension, back pain, breast tenderness, mild diarrhea, fatigue, drowsiness, emotional instability, irritability or depression during menstruation. These are all normal and there is no need to be overly nervous.

2. Pay attention to hygiene and prevent infection. Pay attention to the hygiene of the external genitalia. You must not have sexual intercourse during menstruation. You need to use a menstrual regulating patch to regulate your body, keep warm and avoid cold stimulation. Avoid overwork. People with heavy menstrual bleeding should avoid eating brown sugar.

3. Underwear should be soft, made of cotton, and have good ventilation and breathability. It should be washed and changed frequently, and the changed underwear should be dried in the sun.

4. Avoid eating raw, cold, sour, spicy and other irritating foods. Drink more boiled water to keep bowel movements smooth. People with hot blood should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables before menstruation, and avoid eating things that stimulate fire such as onions, garlic, leeks, and ginger. People with qi and blood deficiency must increase their nutrition in daily life, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, pork liver, spinach, pork, chicken, lamb, etc., and avoid eating raw and cold fruits and vegetables.
