Why is my period still not over after seven days?

Generally speaking, although menstruation brings great inconvenience to women, after only three or four days, menstruation will slowly end and the body will return to normal. But there is an exception. A woman's menstruation lasts for a very long time, even more than seven days. This is called a long menstrual period. So, what is the reason why my period is still not clean after seven days?

1. Uterine fibroids: especially submucosal uterine fibroids, because the area of the uterine cavity is enlarged, it causes abnormal contraction, which can cause excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

2. Uterine cancer: Uterine cancer actually refers to endometrial cancer, which occurs in the inner layer of the uterus. There are no obvious symptoms in the early stage, but vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, pain, etc. will appear later.

3. Uterine polyps: a type of chronic cervicitis. The hyperplastic mucosa gradually protrudes from the base to the external os of the cervix and forms polyps, which can easily lead to symptoms such as bleeding and are prone to recurrence.

4. Endometriosis: It often causes excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation due to affecting the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or due to enhancement of the endometrium.

5. Pelvic inflammation: Inflammation invades the endometrium and may cause symptoms such as prolonged menstruation, irregular menstruation, non-menstrual bleeding, or contact bleeding after intercourse.

6. Chronic uterine hypertrophy: Due to pelvic congestion, ovarian estrogen continues to increase, causing thickening of the uterine muscle layer, resulting in excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

7. Intrauterine device: One of the most common symptoms of intrauterine device is bleeding, including early menstruation, prolonged menstruation, heavy menstrual flow or irregular vaginal bleeding.

8. Anovulatory menstruation: It is a type of bleeding caused by uterine dysfunction, characterized by irregular vaginal bleeding. Anovulatory menstruation can cause prolonged menstruation and a monophasic basal body temperature.
