Why do I have back pain during menstruation?

Why do I have back pain during menstruation?

There are many symptoms of dysmenorrhea, and low back pain is one of them. During menstruation, you should pay attention to rest, drink more hot water, use a cushion when sitting, apply hot towels, gently massage your waist, and don't do too heavy work to avoid aggravating low back pain. The menstrual period is special, so you should pay attention at all times. So what are the causes of low back pain?

1. Abnormal position of the uterus: Low back pain is caused by anteversion, retroflexion, prolapse of the uterus, etc. There is no special treatment for this type of low back pain. Correcting uterine prolapse and changing body position can relieve the symptoms.

2. Pelvic tumors: Patients with uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, and ovarian cysts may experience low back pain due to tumor compression of nerves or cancer cells infiltrating the pelvic connective tissue. This type of patients often have widespread pain in the entire abdomen when they have low back pain, and drug treatment is often ineffective.

3. Internal injury factors: Too many births, frequent artificial abortions and excessive sexual intercourse can all cause kidney damage and lead to low back pain.

4. Lumbar muscle strain: Excessive physical fatigue, abnormal standing or sitting postures, and a too tight waistband can all lead to lumbar muscle strain and cause low back pain. Therefore, such patients should pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and move their waist frequently to stretch their waist muscles.

5. Pelvic inflammatory disease: Patients with chronic adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and pelvic connective tissue inflammation may experience low back pain due to inflammation. As the primary disease improves or is cured, the symptoms of low back pain may gradually become lighter and disappear.

6. Relaxation of sacrospinal ligament: After pregnancy, the growth of the fetus may increase the support force of the waist, leading to relaxation of the sacrospinal ligament, compressing the pelvic nerves and blood vessels and causing low back pain. This type of low back pain will generally disappear gradually as the waist muscle strength recovers after delivery.

What to do when you have back pain during menstruation

1. If the pain is unbearable, pay attention to menstrual hygiene and take oral analgesics or general non-specific analgesics. For example, salicylates have the effect of reducing fever and relieving pain, such as ibuprofen, but it is recommended to use them sparingly.

2. Dysmenorrhea can easily be caused by wind, cold, dampness and other factors. You must pay attention to keeping warm in the future. When your period comes, soak your feet in warm water for at least 20 minutes every day, and put a hot water bottle filled with hot water on your waist to relieve pain.

3. Oral contraceptives are also an option, mainly for women with dysmenorrhea who require contraception. Contraceptive pills can inhibit endometrial growth, reduce blood levels of prostaglandins, vasopressin and oxytocin, and inhibit uterine activity.

4. A cup of honey and milk before going to bed. Before going to bed, drink a cup of hot milk with a spoonful of honey in it and drink it while it is hot. It can relieve or even eliminate the pain of dysmenorrhea. Milk is rich in potassium and honey is rich in magnesium. Potassium can ease mood, suppress pain, prevent infection, and reduce menstrual blood loss. Magnesium can play a role in psychological regulation, helping the body to relax, eliminate tension and reduce stress.

5. Avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, alcoholic and other irritating foods, drink more water, keep bowel movements smooth, reduce pelvic congestion, pay attention to proper rest and maintain adequate sleep.

6. During menstruation, you should pay attention to health care, avoid strenuous exercise and excessive cold and strong stimulation, get adequate rest, relax yourself, restrain yourself, and try to minimize emotional fluctuations.

7. Use 6 grams of angelica and 2 grams of Chuanxiong. Brew with boiling water for 20 minutes and drink as tea. The angelica in this prescription replenishes blood and regulates menstruation, while Chuanxiong promotes blood circulation and relieves pain, so it can treat dysmenorrhea caused by blood deficiency.

8. If the pain is severe, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination in time to consider whether it is caused by lumbar disease or gynecological disease.

What to do if you feel weak during menstruation

During menstruation, because the body is at its weakest, some people may experience symptoms of general weakness. So what should they do?

1. Because of general weakness caused by physical weakness, you should avoid strenuous exercise, overwork, and rest as much as possible.

2. Women are prone to anemia and general weakness due to monthly menstruation, so they should eat more iron-rich foods such as red dates, fungus, apples, spinach, animal liver and blood. They need to supplement iron during menstruation.

3. Keep warm and avoid cold stimulation: such as swimming, cold water baths, going into paddy fields, etc. If you are exposed to sudden and excessive cold stimulation during menstruation.

4. Maintain a happy spirit, avoid mental stimulation and mood swings. During menstruation, pay attention to arranging your work and rest time reasonably, avoid strenuous exercise and physical labor, and achieve a combination of work and rest.

5. You can try red dates and brown sugar water. Brown sugar is warm in nature, and red dates can replenish the blood and warm the body, which can relieve symptoms.

6. If the general weakness is severe and lasts for a long time, you should go to the hospital in time to rule out other diseases and receive further diagnosis and treatment.
