After ovulation, my stomach hurts.

Every girl will experience some discomfort during and before and after menstruation, such as stomach pain. Similarly, abdominal pain is likely to occur after ovulation. However, there are many reasons why your abdomen continues to ache after ovulation. It may be a normal phenomenon or it may be a symptom of certain diseases. The following article will provide a detailed introduction to the dull pain in the abdomen after ovulation.

During ovulation, due to the rupture of the follicular membrane and ovarian capsule, and the stimulation of the nearby peritoneum by the follicular fluid, some more sensitive people (with a lower pain threshold) may experience abdominal pain. This pain is generally mild and occurs once a month. Since ovulation can occur alternately in both ovaries or occur more frequently on one side, the pain can occur alternately on the left and right ovaries or more frequently on one side. If this happens, it is usually normal. But it does not rule out some diseases that cause abdominal pain during ovulation.

1. Embryo implantation

If you have sex during the ovulation period and experience dull pain in your stomach after ovulation, it may be the possibility of embryo implantation, which will cause slight pain in your stomach.

2. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

The dull pain that persists after ovulation may be caused by pelvic inflammation, which is called pelvic peritonitis. Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease may experience symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, fever, chills, headache, and loss of appetite.

3. Adnexitis

If you continue to have dull abdominal pain after ovulation, it may also be caused by adnexitis. Among the female internal reproductive organs, the fallopian tubes and ovaries are called uterine appendages. Adnexitis refers to inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. Its main symptoms are lower abdominal pain accompanied by fever. During gynecological examination, there is obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the adnexal area.

4. Endometriosis

If you have a dull pain in your abdomen after ovulation, it may be caused by endometriosis. Endometriosis is defined as a condition in which endometrial tissue grows outside the uterine cavity, such as in the myometrium, ovaries, or other parts of the pelvic cavity. Patients with endometriosis mainly experience symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, infertility, irregular menstruation, pain during sexual intercourse, and cyclical rectal irritation.
