What are the negative effects of dyeing hair during pregnancy?

Many female friends are willing to take care of their hair, which will make them look more refreshed and make them feel better. The most common way to take care of hair is to dye it, which is something many people will do, but for women who are pregnant, it is best not to dye their hair, otherwise it may affect the fetus in their belly. If you are not careful, the fetus may suffer from congenital diseases or even miscarriage. This is mainly because hair dyes contain a lot of chemical substances. These substances do not normally cause too much harm to the human body, but because pregnant women are in a special period, the impact caused is greater than that of ordinary people.

Dangers of hair dyeing:

Perming and dyeing hair are the two most commonly used methods for shaping hair style. It is not suitable for expectant mothers to perm or dye their hair in the early stage of pregnancy (first 3 months) and the middle and late stages of pregnancy. The early pregnancy period is the most critical stage for the development of fetal organs. Improper protection or use of harmful substances during this period may cause fetal malformations. At present, all perming is chemical perming, which requires the use of "cold perm lotion" to curl and shape the hair. Hair dye is also composed of relatively complex chemical components. Although there is no direct evidence showing that perming or dyeing hair will cause harm to the fetus, to be on the safe side, expectant mothers should not perm or dye their hair in the early stages of pregnancy.

It is recommended to consider pregnancy 3-6 months after dyeing your hair. Experts warn that no matter what kind of hair dye or its products are used, dyed hair generally contains toxic aromatic chemicals. Long-term use may damage the body's hematopoietic system or cause fetal malformations in pregnant women. In mild cases, it can also cause dermatitis, skin redness, itching, ulcers, etc. For the health of themselves and their babies, women who are planning to become pregnant should avoid dyeing their hair.

Most of the hair dyes currently sold on the market contain toxic chemicals such as "p-phenylenediamine". If the human body is exposed to and absorbs hair dyes for a long time, it is easy for benzene organic substances to enter the capillaries through the scalp and circulate to the bone marrow with the blood. Long-term repeated exposure will cause liver cells to become malignant and lead to leukemia. In addition, if the skin is broken when dyeing hair and cannot heal, it may also cause squamous cell carcinoma of the skin. Therefore, we should dye our hair as little as possible. In addition, people with skin allergies or broken skin (especially the skin on the head) should not dye or perm their hair. Patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma and other diseases should not dye their hair.
