What causes ectopic pregnancy?

When facing the problem of ectopic pregnancy, no matter who you are, you must take it seriously and understand the causes. The most common ones are severe chronic fallopian tube disease, endometriosis, or repeated abortions. These people may be prone to ectopic pregnancy.

1. Hypoplastic and deformed fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and recanalization after ligation can hinder the movement of the fertilized egg, causing it to stay in the fallopian tube to implant and develop.

2. Chronic salpingitis: Inflammation causes adhesion of the fallopian tube lining, leading to narrowing of the tube lumen and weakened peristalsis of the tube wall, allowing the egg to enter the fallopian tube for fertilization, but the fertilized egg cannot return to the uterine cavity.

3. The fertilized egg swims out of the fallopian tube: After the fertilized egg is fertilized in one fallopian tube, it can swim along the umbrella end to the opposite fallopian tube. Due to the extended time, it has the ability to implant before it reaches the uterine cavity, thus forming an ectopic pregnancy.

4. Pelvic tumors compress or pull on the fallopian tube, causing it to shift or deform, hindering the passage of the fertilized egg.

5. Repeated abortions. The more abortions you have, the greater the chance of ectopic pregnancy.

6. Women with a history of ectopic pregnancy are very likely to have another ectopic pregnancy, but what’s interesting is that another ectopic pregnancy usually occurs in the contralateral fallopian tube.
