How to check cervical polyps? Let’s learn professional knowledge together!

There are many reasons why women develop cervical polyps, such as gynecological inflammation. Because the causes are complicated, women need to go to the hospital for a detailed examination, and the doctor will tell the patient which subjects need to be examined.

First, you can have a gynecological examination. Generally speaking, for cervical polyps caused by inflammation, if it is an acute inflammation, the symptoms that appear are cervical congestion and edema or cervical erosion. At the same time, purulent secretions will be discharged from the cervical canal, and it will be painful when it touches the cervix during the outflow process.

Second, pathological examinations can be performed. For patients with cervical polyps, pathological examination will show that the center of the polyp is a longitudinal axis formed by fibrous connective tissue, with dense and numerous blood vessels. On the outside are the original tissues of the cervix: glands and stroma, and the surface is covered by cervical mucosa. This symptom is an obvious symptom of polyps.

Third, colposcopy can be used for detection. The main principle of the examination is that different images will be presented under the microscope depending on the degree of surface coverage of the polyp. One is formed by excessive accumulation of cervical mucosal hyperplasia. The other type is a polyp on the squamous epithelium on the surface of the cervical vagina, which is pink in color.

Fourth, cervical polyps are a common phenomenon among married women, and it is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Chronic inflammation stimulates the proliferation of the cervical mucosa, and the tendency of the uterus to expel foreign bodies causes the mucosa to protrude outward, thus forming polyps. The main causes of the disease are: inflammatory factors, endocrine disorders, pathogen infection, etc. Inflammation generally refers to chronic inflammation; endocrine disorders mainly refer to those caused by excessive estrogen; pathogen infection refers to infections in women during childbirth, miscarriage, etc.
