What are the precautions in late pregnancy?

The late pregnancy is very close to the day of delivery, so women at this stage are very prone to irritability. Many people do not know what they should pay attention to in the late pregnancy. During this period, women must have regular prenatal checkups to ensure the normal development of the fetus and not be too nervous.

1. Prenatal check-up

Starting in the ninth month of pregnancy, prenatal check-ups should be conducted every two weeks. During the last month of pregnancy, the frequency is reduced to once a week. In addition to ensuring a smooth delivery in the future, regular prenatal checkups can also reduce the tension of pregnant women.

2. In the last month of pregnancy, fetal movements are not as obvious as in the past.

As the day of delivery approaches, the fetus enters the pelvis and its head is restricted. It can no longer move freely as before, and fetal movements decrease accordingly. However, since the fetus's hands and feet can still move freely as usual, some pregnant women say that they do not notice a significant decrease in fetal movement.

3. Control your weight and avoid obesity

If you consume too many calories during pregnancy and they accumulate in the body as fat, it will cause the birth canal to narrow and easily lead to dystocia.

4. Finger pain, joint stiffness, leg swelling

Edema is caused by automatic compression of the abdominal veins, which prevents normal blood circulation. If the edema occurs at night and disappears after getting up in the morning, it can be considered physiological edema and there is no need to worry too much. If the legs and face are severely swollen and accompanied by symptoms such as increased blood pressure, headache, decreased vision, respiratory disorders, etc., you need to consider whether you have preeclampsia. Pregnant women need to have regular prenatal examinations to have a certain understanding of the causes of edema.

5. Be careful not to eat spoiled food

When diarrhea is severe, intestinal activity can stimulate the uterus, so pregnant women must seek medical attention promptly when they have diarrhea.

6. There will be obvious mood swings before delivery

Because pregnant women have different hormone secretions from ordinary people, they will have obvious mood swings and may even feel anxious, angry, lost, etc. In this case, you should adjust your emotions in time to avoid affecting the fetus. To understand that this is a wonderful process of nurturing life, you can write a pregnancy diary and wait for the baby's arrival with a happy and expectant attitude.
