Can I remove the IUD if I have inflammation? What are the precautions for removing the IUD?

Removing an IUD is not something that can be done casually. There are many things to understand. If a woman has gynecological inflammation, it is not suitable for her to have an IUD removed as this will be harmful to the body and can easily cause infection. The procedure can be done after the inflammation is eliminated. Within half a month after removing the IUD, you should rest more, pay attention to hygiene, and prevent infection.

1. Get adequate rest within 2 weeks after removing the IUD, avoid strenuous physical activities, and eat nutritious food.

2. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva. Avoid bathing and sexual intercourse within 2 weeks.

3. Please note that on the day after the IUD is removed, you may experience mild lower abdominal discomfort, back pain, or a small amount of vaginal bleeding. If the amount of vaginal bleeding after surgery exceeds the amount of menstruation, or the bleeding continues after half a month, or there is severe abdominal pain, etc., please come to the hospital for a follow-up visit immediately.

4. Take appropriate amount of anti-infection and hemostatic drugs after surgery.

6. Rest for 1 day after removing the IUD. Avoid sexual intercourse and taking a bath in a basin within 2 weeks to prevent infection.

7. The best time to remove the IUD is within 3-7 days after the menstruation ends, which can reduce bleeding.

8. Before removing the ring, an X-ray fluoroscopy or "B" type ultrasound examination should be performed to confirm that the ring is in the uterine cavity before removal.

9. After the IUD is removed, there may be a small amount of vaginal bleeding or bloody leucorrhea, which will disappear naturally in one or two days. This is caused by the stimulation of the endometrium and cervix by the IUD removal. It is a normal phenomenon. If the bleeding is heavy or the bleeding time is long, you should seek medical treatment in time. It is best to remove the IUD after anti-inflammatory treatment, otherwise it will easily cause infection and harm your body.
