Will it hurt for women to have their IUD removed?

Our country adheres to the basic national policy of family planning and has implemented the one-child policy for many years. Now the policy has changed and the country has begun to implement a two-child policy. Many women wear IUDs after giving birth to their first child. If they want a second child, they need to remove the IUD. So, can the IUD be removed? Is it painful to remove it? Does it have any impact on having a second child? Now I will explain this knowledge to you one by one.

IUD removal surgery can be divided into two types: ordinary IUD removal and painless IUD removal, but most hospitals currently promote painless IUD removal. Although it is a common outpatient surgery, it is an operation on the uterine cavity after all, so pain is inevitable. If you choose painless IUD removal, it can be performed under local anesthesia and women will not feel any pain.

At the same time, women are reminded not to underestimate the IUD removal surgery, as it can still pose a threat to women's health if they are not careful, inducing inflammation, infertility, etc. Therefore, IUD removal surgery also needs to be performed in a regular hospital under the operation of a professional doctor.

The time to remove the IUD should not be too early or too late. Premature removal of the IUD can cause menstrual disorders in women and may lead to re-pregnancy. Removing the IUD too late will also have a certain impact on women's endocrine system.

Therefore, the timing of removing the IUD needs to be well planned. Common times include: the inserted ring has reached the prescribed period, and you should go to the hospital to remove the ring in time to avoid deformation or failure of the ring in the uterus. Generally, metal rings can be stored for 20 years, silicone rubber V-rings can be stored for 7-10 years, and copper sleeve T-rings can be stored for 10-15 years. A new ring can be put in while removing the ring.

If there are adverse reactions such as irregular vaginal bleeding or continued heavy menstrual flow after the IUD is placed, which affect your health, the IUD should be removed promptly if drug treatment is ineffective. If there are significant changes in the menstrual cycle during menopause, such as the cycle becoming longer or menopause lasting more than 6 months, the ring should be removed promptly.

After reading my introduction about IUDs above, I think women can rest assured and remove the IUD in time once the second-child policy is opened. After all, placing an object in the vagina always has adverse effects. But it has no effect on fertilization after removal. Finally, I wish everyone will always have a healthy and happy baby.
