Basic knowledge about cystic breast hyperplasia

People tend to be more concerned about their physical health in their daily lives, especially for women. Nowadays, women often suffer from many diseases, among which cystic breast hyperplasia is relatively common. Patients with this type of disease will have some breast discomfort symptoms. Regarding this aspect, the following is a detailed introduction to the basic knowledge about cystic breast hyperplasia.

This disease is one of the common and frequently occurring diseases among women, and is more common in women aged 25 to 45. It is essentially a disorder of the normal breast structure caused by physiological hyperplasia and incomplete involution. In our country, cystic changes are rare, and most cases are glandular hyperplasia, so it is often called "mastopathy." The World Health Organization (WHO) collectively refers to this condition as "benign breast dysplasia." The risk of malignant transformation of this disease is 2 to 4 times higher than that of normal women, and the clinical symptoms and signs are sometimes confused with breast cancer.

Hyperplasia of the breast is lobular hyperplasia, which is clinically seen as breast cystic adenosis, chronic mastopathy, chronic cystic breast

Adenitis, breast dysplasia, and breast cystic hyperplasia are all breast hyperplasia diseases. It is a common benign lesion of the breast. It is more common in middle-aged women, and most lobular hyperplasia is related to endocrine imbalance in the body. It is not inflammation, nor is it a tumor, but a physiological response of the body to endocrine imbalance and a disorder of the normal structure of the breast. Some patients experience breast tenderness, tingling or dull pain, which is related to the menstrual cycle. Flaky, granular or nodular lumps can be felt, which are tough in texture. Breast B-ultrasound or X-ray can be used for differential diagnosis. It is the most common breast disease in women, and its incidence ranks first among breast diseases. In recent years, the incidence of this disease has been increasing year by year, and the age of patients has been getting younger and younger. According to surveys, about 70% to 80% of women have varying degrees of breast hyperplasia, which is more common in women aged 25-45.

Experts warn: After suffering from breast hyperplasia, quite a number of patients do not take it seriously enough, delay seeking medical treatment or only seek relief from breast pain symptoms, without realizing the potential dangers of breast hyperplasia - that is, a small number of breast hyperplasia will persist for a long time and may develop benign breast tumors or malignant lesions.

Disease category

Fibrocystic disease belongs to the category of "breast disease" in traditional Chinese medicine. The earliest description of this disease was found in the "Zhongzang Jing". Since then, many doctors in successive dynasties have discussed it, with detailed explanations of its etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and treatment. "Breast pain" is a condition characterized by poor flow of Qi, swelling and pain in the breast area, with symptoms sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and sometimes light and sometimes heavy. The "Collection of Heart De of Ulcers" describes it as follows: "There are tuberculosis in the breast, shaped like balls or eggs, without pain, without causing cold or heat, and the skin color does not change. The nodules grow and shrink with happiness and anger. This is called breast nodules." It not only describes the characteristics of rapid swelling, but also points out the relationship between breast hyperplasia and emotional changes.

Disease characteristics

Breast hyperplasia is mainly characterized by cyclical breast pain. Initially, it is a diffuse distension and pain, and the tenderness is more obvious on the upper outer side and upper middle part of the breast. The pain worsens before menstruation every month and decreases or disappears after menstruation. In severe cases, there is persistent pain before and after menstruation. Sometimes the pain radiates to the armpits, shoulders, back, upper limbs, etc. Patients often report that they have a lump in their breast, but clinical examination only reveals thickened mammary glands. In very rare cases of simple lobular breast hyperplasia in adolescence, the disease can heal itself in about 2 years, but most patients need treatment. Don't endure it.

Etiology and pathology

The cause of fibrocystic fibrosis is not yet fully understood. It is currently believed to be related to endocrine disorders and mental factors. Decreased secretion of progesterone and a relative increase in estrogen are important causes of this disease. Mainly benign hyperplasia of breast stroma,

Hyperplasia may occur around the glandular ducts and be accompanied by the formation of cysts of varying sizes; it may also occur within the glandular ducts and manifest as papillary hyperplasia of the epithelium with cystic dilatation of the milk ducts. In addition, there is a type of lobular parenchymal hyperplasia.

In recent years, many scholars believe that increased prolactin is also an important factor causing breast hyperplasia. In addition, studies have shown that hormone receptors also play an important role in the pathogenesis of breast hyperplasia.

There are quite a lot of cases of cystic breast hyperplasia in women, and this situation is often a cause of concern for women, because if it is not treated in time, it will often cause certain harm to the body. The above introduction is the basic knowledge about cystic breast hyperplasia. Everyone has a certain understanding of this situation, so we still need to pay more attention to it in the future.
