What are the harms of cola to women?

Coke is one of the most common carbonated drinks. We all know that drinking too much carbonated drinks will have certain effects on the body. Therefore, many parents do not allow their children to drink too much carbonated drinks. However, due to the unique taste of carbonated drinks, many people still like to drink Coke. Coke contains a lot of sugar, and drinking too much will cause obesity. There are many harmful effects if women drink too much. So what are the harms of Coke to women?

Since cola drinks are carbonated drinks containing cola bean extract, which contains caffeine, caffeine can quickly pass through the placenta and affect the fetus. Therefore, when expectant mothers drink a lot of cola, the fetus will be affected by caffeine, which may cause the fetus to suffer from congenital diseases.

In this regard, obstetric expert Liu Haitang pointed out that a bottle of ordinary cola contains about 50 mg of caffeine, and a single oral dose of caffeine is more than 1 gram. Just such a dose is enough to cause central nervous system excitement, accelerated breathing, tachycardia, insomnia, dizziness, tinnitus and other symptoms. Even if you take less than 1 gram of caffeine, some people will experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and palpitations due to the irritation to the gastric mucosa.

Because the fetus is particularly sensitive to caffeine, and some beverages even contain 2.4% to 2.6% of caffeine, clonidine and other bioalkalis, some pregnant women will experience mild poisoning symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and rapid heartbeat after drinking them, which may affect the development of important organs such as the fetal brain, heart, and liver, and may even cause congenital diseases in the child after birth. Therefore, pregnant women should drink caffeinated beverages with caution.

Researchers have previously conducted experiments on mice and found that caffeine can cause congenital defects and slow bone development in offspring. According to the US FDA pregnancy drug safety classification standard, it is classified as Class C. It can be inferred from this that caffeine can have adverse effects on fetal development, and pregnant women are advised not to drink caffeinated beverages such as cola.

Through the introduction in the article, we know that cola contains a high amount of sugar and caffeine, so women should drink less, especially pregnant women. Eating too much high-sugar food is prone to gestational diabetes, which will have a certain impact on the fetus. Therefore, it is recommended that women drink less carbonated drinks such as cola.
