What are the symptoms of uterine adnexal cysts?

There is a unique organ in the female body, which is the uterus. There are fallopian tubes and ovaries on both sides of the uterus, collectively known as uterine appendages. They are the female reproductive organs and play an indispensable role in human reproduction. Therefore, if important organs become diseased, the consequences will be quite serious. Uterine adnex cyst is a common uterine disease. Today I will introduce its symptoms to you.

Adnexal cysts are cystic tumors of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, and their contents are liquid in nature. The most common adnexal cyst in clinical practice is ovarian cyst, which is a common gynecological disease. A left-sided adnexal cyst means that there is a cystic tumor in the left ovary. It can occur at any age, but most cases occur during the reproductive years. The causes of uterine adnexal cysts are inflammation and endocrine disorders.

TCM believes that the occurrence of ovarian cysts is mainly due to internal organ weakness, strain of qi and blood, excessive emotions, invasion of wind, cold and dampness, blood stasis during menstruation and childbirth, which leads to kidney yang deficiency, cold stagnation and qi stagnation, dysfunction of yin fluid distribution, phlegm and blood stasis, or retention of phlegm and fluid and qi stagnation, or numbness, day by day decline of yang qi, stagnation of yin, and increasing size.

Clinically, adnexal cysts are often manifested by lower abdominal pain, discomfort, increased vaginal discharge, yellow vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal odor, menstrual irregularities, and usually a firm and painless swelling in the lower abdomen, and sometimes pain during sexual intercourse. When cysts interfere with hormone production, symptoms such as irregular vaginal bleeding or increased hair growth may occur.

If the cyst twists, there will be severe abdominal pain, bloating, difficulty breathing, loss of appetite, nausea and fever. Larger cysts can put pressure on the area near the bladder, causing frequent urination and difficulty urinating. Especially when these symptoms are severe, bleeding is frequent and occur at the same time, women are more likely to suffer from left-sided adnexal cysts, and the risk of malignant ovarian cancer is greater.

Cysts have many complications, so if they are discovered, they should be treated early. Currently, the more effective treatment method is ultrasound therapy, which is convenient, can usually be treated and left, and the effect is relatively good. In normal times, we should always pay attention to our physical condition and try our best to detect and treat diseases early.
