What if my period is delayed for 15 days and I am not pregnant?

Menstruation is an important information reminder for women. When the body stays up too late, menstruation will be advanced or delayed. When the symptoms are severe, there will be severe pain. Menstruation will stop for a period of time after a woman becomes pregnant. However, the physical differences between women make the symptoms of certain problems very similar. Although menstruation stops for a period of time, it is not necessarily a sign of pregnancy. If menstruation is delayed for 15 days and no pregnancy occurs, what is the specific reason?

Menstrual disorders are also called irregular menstruation: the main manifestations are abnormal menstrual cycle or bleeding volume, delayed menstruation, or abdominal pain and systemic symptoms before and during menstruation. The cause may be organic disease or functional disorder. Many systemic diseases such as blood diseases, hypertension, liver diseases, endocrine diseases, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole, reproductive tract infection, tumors (such as ovarian tumors, uterine fibroids), etc. can cause menstrual disorders. For amenorrhea women of childbearing age with a history of sexual activity, pregnancy should be suspected if their menstruation is delayed by 10 days or more. Amenorrhea may be the earliest and most important symptom of pregnancy. But it should be noted that amenorrhea does not necessarily mean pregnancy.

About half of women experience symptoms such as chills, dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, drooling, loss of appetite, preference for sour foods or aversion to greasy foods, nausea, and vomiting in the morning about 6 weeks after menstruation. These symptoms are called early pregnancy reactions. Most early pregnancy reactions disappear on their own around 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Although pregnancy test strips can help mothers know whether they are pregnant in advance, they also have a certain degree of error. After the test, you can measure it several times and then go to the hospital for examination to confirm whether you are pregnant. Don't blindly believe in tools such as pregnancy test sticks and pregnancy test strips. You also need to pay attention to your body's cleanliness and health.
