What should you pay attention to when taking a bath every day during pregnancy

As we all know, the physical fitness of pregnant women is more fragile than that of non-pregnant women. Therefore, we should pay attention to all aspects, not only diet but also physical aspects. Only by protecting from all aspects can we ensure the safe birth of the baby. Taking a bath every day during pregnancy will have a certain impact on pregnant women, but it is also okay if you choose the correct bathing method. Next, let us understand what issues should pregnant women pay attention to when taking a bath?

The water temperature is preferably between 27℃ and 37℃.

When the mother's temperature is too high, it can cause fetal malformation or poor development, especially affecting the developing brain nerve tissue. Brain nerve cells in early embryonic tissue are more sensitive to high heat. After birth, fetuses whose nerve cells are damaged by high temperatures will suffer from brain malformations, congenital dementia, and other congenital idiocy, as well as mental retardation, slow reaction, and other congenital idiocy. According to statistics, if the water temperature is too high when pregnant women take a bath, the impact on the fetus mainly occurs in the first few months of pregnancy. According to measurements by medical scientists, if a pregnant woman bathes in hot water that exceeds her body temperature for more than 15 minutes, her body temperature can rise to 38.9°C. If the pregnant woman's body temperature exceeds normal by 1°C-1.5°C, the fetal brain cells may be damaged. If the pregnant woman's body temperature rises by 3°C, the fetal brain cells may be killed. Especially during the 10-14 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus's central nervous cells are damaged, which inhibits the fetal brain and affects its subsequent intellectual development.

In addition, medical research has shown that if a pregnant woman bathes in 39°C water for 15 minutes, the temperature of the vaginal wall will rise to 39°C, which is equivalent to the same body temperature as a high fever. Therefore, it is best for pregnant women to bathe in warm water at 27°C-37°C, and it is best to take a shower instead of taking a bath in pool water with higher temperatures.

Time: 15 to 20 minutes is best

Pregnant women should also control the time they spend bathing. Taking a long shower can easily cause symptoms such as dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue, and chest tightness. This is because the air in the bathroom gradually decreases, the temperature is high, and the oxygen supply is relatively insufficient. In addition, the stimulation of hot water can cause the capillaries on the surface of the body to dilate, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the pregnant woman's brain. At the same time, it may cause fetal hypoxia and increased fetal heart rate, and in severe cases it may affect the development of the fetal nervous system.

Frequency: preferably once a day

Although pregnant women should take a bath frequently, it does not mean that they should take a bath several times a day. The frequency of bathing should be determined according to personal habits and season. Generally speaking, it should be at least once every three or four days. If conditions permit, it is best to bathe once a day. In hot summer, it is fine to bathe twice a day. If you can't take a shower every day in the cold winter, you should still wipe your body and wash your vulva.

If taking a bath every day during pregnancy will cause certain harm to the female body, pregnant women should also insist on wiping their bodies clean every day. This will not only maintain the hygiene of the body, but also protect the body from the invasion of some bacteria to prevent other bad diseases caused by bacteria. In short, the physical health of pregnant women is of paramount importance. Physical health should always be put first to ensure the dual safety of pregnant women and fetuses.
