Symptoms during pregnancy and before menstruation

Will a woman who has just become pregnant continue to have her period? Generally speaking, in the early stages of pregnancy, the menstrual period will also stop, but some people will still experience bleeding and don’t know what to do. In fact, bleeding does not necessarily mean that menstruation has arrived. There are many different types of bleeding. We can understand the cause of bleeding and deal with it immediately to avoid affecting our pregnancy.

Will I continue to have my period during pregnancy?

Generally speaking, the first sign of a woman's pregnancy is amenorrhea. Under normal circumstances, women will not have their periods again after they become pregnant. A married or conjugal woman with a regular menstrual cycle should think about the possibility of pregnancy if her menstruation is delayed, but this is not absolute.

There are very few women who still experience vaginal bleeding at the time of their next menarche after becoming pregnant. This type of menstruation after pregnancy is called "pregnancy menstruation." Its characteristics are less bleeding, lighter color, shorter duration, and different from all previous menstrual periods. In fact, this is not a real menstrual period. This condition usually occurs within 3 months of pregnancy and usually only occurs once. It also occurs 2 to 3 times in some pregnant women.

Why do I continue to have my period during pregnancy?

1. Because the embryo implantation is not stable, the embryo has not been produced, and it is close to or on the day of menstruation, a perfect egg cell will be discharged, and then fall out of the body along the uterine wall, which leads a small number of pregnant women to think that they are having their period.

2. Due to individual differences and other reasons, some women's uterus and ovaries secrete relatively low levels of estrogen, especially progesterone, after pregnancy, causing a small part of the uterine wall to continue to fall off. Therefore, these women will still have their periods after pregnancy, but the amount of menstruation will be much less than in the normal stage. Until three months after pregnancy, the embryo is produced, and the female hormones and estrogen in the woman's body remain at a relatively high level. At this time, the uterine wall no longer falls off, and the menstrual period no longer comes.

What to do if you have vaginal bleeding during pregnancy

1. During the early stages of pregnancy, if there is vaginal bleeding, it may be caused by unstable embryo implantation and individual differences, so it is a false alarm. But it should be noted that vaginal bleeding may also be an abnormal phenomenon such as threatened abortion or ectopic pregnancy.

2. Women with threatened miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy may also experience vaginal bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, which can easily be mistaken for a normal menstrual period. However, vaginal bleeding in women with threatened abortion or ectopic pregnancy is generally unrelated to the menstrual cycle, and the bleeding is often continuous and continuous. Patients are often accompanied by abdominal pain, lower abdominal distension and other symptoms.

3. If women of childbearing age experience the above-mentioned vaginal bleeding, they must seek medical attention as soon as possible, otherwise, the child may have a miscarriage and the pregnant woman may be at risk of death from internal bleeding.

It turns out that pregnancy bleeding is not caused by menstruation, but by many other conditions. As we have read in the previous article, we know that different bleeding conditions will have different effects. In any case, we must deal with this bleeding problem immediately.
