Is endometriosis painful? The answer is not necessarily. Depending on the location and severity of the endometriosis, 27% to 40% of patients may not have dysmenorrhea. However, secondary pain and idiopathic aggravation are the typical main manifestations of endometriosis. Endometriosis refers to the appearance of uterine wall tissue in locations other than the uterine body myometrium and the endometrium lining the uterine cavity. The patient's clinical symptoms are irregular menstruation and lower abdominal pain, and clinical medicine often seeks medical treatment for pain. The pain can mainly manifest as: 1. Secondary aggravated dysmenorrhea. Women of childbearing age who previously had no dysmenorrhea but recently developed abdominal pain during their menstrual cycle, with the pain becoming more intense each time, should be alert to endometriosis. The pain of endometriosis often starts one to two days before menstruation, is most intense on the first day of menstruation and lasts throughout the entire menstrual cycle. The pain is often located in the lower abdomen, lumbar sacral region, perineum, anus, etc. 2. Chronic pelvic pain. Long-term lower abdominal pain can cause chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and thus chronic pelvic pain. 3. Acute abdomen. When a large cyst ruptures, sudden severe abdominal pain occurs, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, etc. This type of situation requires emergency surgical treatment as soon as possible. In addition to pain, endometriosis also often causes infertility, painful intercourse, irregular menstruation and other symptoms. It should be noted that disordered endometrial tissue can appear anywhere in the body, causing varying degrees of pain and bleeding during the menstrual cycle. If it affects the stomach and intestines, it can cause regular diarrhea or constipation accompanied by bleeding. Abdominal B-ultrasound can show the location and size of the cyst and is an important method for detecting cysts. It is inexpensive and is often used in combination with clinical symptoms and gynecological examination to diagnose the disease. Laparoscopic surgery is a reliable method to diagnose endometriosis. The discovery of disordered diseases during laparoscopic surgery can diagnose endometriosis. In addition, laparoscopic surgery can also be used to separate disordered tissue. |
