As we all know, every healthy woman has a vagina. But in fact, some people still have congenital vaginal dysplasia. Congenital vaginal dysplasia is also known as congenital absence of vagina. The occurrence of this condition is related to many factors. Some patients develop this type of disease because they are stimulated by external factors during the embryonic period. This disease is caused by internal or external factors hindering the development of the embryo, or it may be caused by abnormal development of the paramesonephric duct due to gene mutation (which may have a family history). The patient has a normal female chromosome karyotype, normal systemic growth and development of female secondary sexual characteristics, normal vulva, absent vagina, developed uterus (only remnants of the two horns), small fallopian tubes, and normal ovarian development and function. Patients with Rokitansky-Kustner-Hauser syndrome, which is often characterized, are the most common. Causes 1. Chromosome abnormality. 2. Androgen insensitivity syndrome. 3. The mother uses male hormones, anti-cancer drugs, thalidomide, etc. in early pregnancy. 4. Infection with certain viruses or Toxoplasma gondii in early pregnancy. 2 Clinical manifestations The vast majority of patients with congenital absence of vagina only have completely closed vaginal vestibule mucosa at the normal vaginal opening, with no traces of vagina. Some patients also have a shallow depression in the vaginal vestibule, and some have a blind vagina shorter than 3 cm. It is often accompanied by no deformity, with only slightly thickened strips of tissue seen in the middle of the broad ligament in the normal uterine position. About 1/10 of patients may have partial uterine development and functional endometrium. After puberty, due to menstrual blood retention, they experience periodic abdominal pain, amenorrhea, or the disease is discovered only after marriage when they seek medical attention due to difficulty in sexual intercourse. Many people with congenital vaginal hypoplasia will have a certain degree of uterine hypoplasia, so their menstruation will also be irregular. Many women don't even know they have this condition until they get tested. The current treatment for congenital vaginal dysplasia is artificial vaginal reconstruction. There are many ways to rebuild. |
