What causes vaginal bleeding after pregnancy?

Vaginal bleeding after pregnancy! Many pregnant women will encounter similar problems. Most pregnant women will experience spotting in the early stages of pregnancy. Every pregnant woman who finds herself experiencing vaginal bleeding will rush to the hospital for examination in a panic, thinking it is a sign of miscarriage, but it is not necessarily the case. So, what exactly causes vaginal bleeding in pregnant women? Let’s find out with the editor!

Experts point out that there are many reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy. Pregnant mothers must be vigilant and go to a regular hospital for treatment in time.

1. Vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy is common in cases of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or trophoblastic disease.

(1) Abortion: For married women with normal menstrual cycles who have a history of amenorrhea and vaginal bleeding, abortion should be considered first. A small amount of bleeding is a threatened abortion, while a slightly larger amount of bleeding accompanied by abdominal pain is usually an inevitable abortion.

(2) Ectopic pregnancy is accompanied by a history of amenorrhea, followed by irregular vaginal bleeding and acute abdominal pain.

(3) Hydatidiform mole is associated with a long history of amenorrhea (2 to 4 months) followed by vaginal bleeding, which may be heavy, and severe early pregnancy reactions.

(4) Choriocarcinoma: Choriocarcinoma should be considered in patients with irregular vaginal bleeding, which is continuous or increases suddenly after a molar pregnancy or miscarriage.

2. Vaginal bleeding in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is common in placenta previa and placental abruption. Placenta previa means that the placenta is not implanted above the uterine cavity, but moves down to the exit of the uterine opening, which can cause two consequences. One is difficult labor; the other is that there is no warning sign when bleeding occurs, and sudden heavy bleeding may endanger the life of the pregnant woman and the fetus. Placental abruption is also an abnormal condition. The placenta is the channel for transporting oxygen to the developing fetus. If the placenta separates before the fetus is born, it will cause serious consequences.

The above are common causes of vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. Therefore, whether it is in the early or late pregnancy, if you find bleeding, you must seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

Finally, the editor reminds all female friends that if vaginal bleeding occurs during pregnancy, you must go to the hospital immediately for relevant examinations, because this is most likely caused by a disease and can be treated in time. Women who have an unexpected pregnancy should be more careful because they are not prepared for conception and should have regular prenatal checkups during pregnancy.
