Breast lumps are one of the most common diseases in women. Normal breast tissue is soft, uniform and elastic. Normal breast congestion may feel nodular, but this is the result of physiological changes. Most benign and malignant breast diseases have the appearance of a lump as the first symptom. Therefore, once a breast lump is found, regardless of its size and nature, it should be treated promptly. 1. There are many reasons for breast lumps, but most of them are benign lesions, so don't be too alarmed if you find a lump. The most common benign breast lumps include breast hyperplasia, breast fibroadenoma, intraductal papilloma and breast tuberculosis. 2. Breast hyperplasia mostly occurs in middle-aged women. There are often multiple irregular nodules of varying sizes and hardness in both breasts, with unclear boundaries with surrounding tissues. Patients often feel breast pain and symptoms worsen before menstruation. 3. When the lobules and ductules of the breast are highly dilated and cystic changes occur, it is called cystic hyperplasia of the breast. This pathological change has a 4% chance of malignancy and should also be taken seriously. 4. Breast fibroadenoma is formed by the simultaneous proliferation of fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium in the mammary lobules. It is the most common benign breast tumor and mostly occurs in young women. It is characterized by a painless lump in the breast, which is usually solitary and more common in the upper outer quadrant of the breast. The lumps are mostly round, with smooth surfaces, clear boundaries with surrounding tissues, and are movable without adhesions. The possibility of malignancy is low, about 1%. Breast tuberculosis is more common in middle-aged women. There are rarely systemic symptoms of tuberculosis. The main manifestations are breast lumps. The course of the disease is slow. At the beginning, it is mostly isolated nodules, which gradually form several lumps. The tenderness is not obvious. After a few months, the lumps soften and form cold abscesses. After rupture, ulcers and prolonged discharge may occur, accompanied by thin, bean curd-like pus, and the ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes are often significantly enlarged. 5. Breast lumps should also be considered as possible breast malignancies, and breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor occurring in the breast. In the early stages, it is mostly a single, small, painless lump that is hard, rough on the surface, and difficult to move. There are usually no subjective symptoms in the early stages, and most cases are discovered accidentally. If the lesion continues to develop, the lump will increase in size, the local skin will become sunken and develop an orange peel-like change. When the tumor invades the milk duct, the nipple will often retract. At this time, the patient will often have enlarged axillary or supraclavicular lymph nodes. In short, when a patient has a breast lump, it may be a case of breast hyperplasia. You can do a breast B-ultrasound to confirm it. Be careful not to stimulate it too much, pay attention to diet and regular work and rest. You can use a bra to support the breast and take some medicine orally to relieve pain. |
