Causes and hazards of excessive male hormone in women

Causes and hazards of excessive male hormone in women

Many people mistakenly believe that male hormone only exists in male friends. In fact, not only does it exist in large quantities in male friends' bodies, it is also indispensable to the female body. However, the amount of each hormone required by the human body has a certain limit. Once it exceeds the body's needs or the amount it can tolerate, it will cause unexpected adverse symptoms. For example, excessive levels of testosterone in women can lead to some adverse symptoms.

Androgens exist in the female body and are secretions of female sexual desire, which promote healthy pregnancy in women. However, it is often found that female androgen levels are too high, which seriously affects female pregnancy and causes infertility.

Reasons for high testosterone levels in women:

1. 60% of testosterone is bound to beta globulin in the blood, called testosterone-estradiol binding globulin (TEBG), about 38% (mainly androstenedione) is bound to albumin, and free testosterone accounts for only 2%, but it is active. If TEBG binds to estradiol more and binds to testosterone less, the free testosterone in the blood will increase.

2. Due to excessive secretion of the ovary or adrenal cortex.

3. It may also be caused by abnormal peripheral conversion.

4. Hyperinsulinemia caused by insulin resistance can stimulate the ovary to secrete large amounts of androgens.

5. The enzyme system is disordered during the biosynthesis of steroid hormones. For example, if aromatase is deficient, androstenedione cannot be converted into estrone, and testosterone cannot be converted into estradiol, resulting in excessive accumulation of androstenedione, especially testosterone.

Symptoms of excessive testosterone secretion in women:

1. No pregnancy.

2. Polycystic ovary syndrome.

3. Excessive body hair.

4. Acne, pimples, etc.

It can be seen from this that male hormones are both indispensable and cannot exist in excess in the female body, otherwise it will easily cause the above-mentioned adverse symptoms and even lead to serious consequences such as infertility. Therefore, if any female friend finds that she has symptoms of excessive male hormones, she should seek medical attention in time and let the doctor help her regulate the balance of hormone levels in her body.
