Targeted drugs for ovarian cancer

Targeted drugs for ovarian cancer

In modern society, due to the increasing pressure in women's lives, many women have developed corresponding cancer problems. For female friends, the most serious cancer problem is cancer of the reproductive system. Among them, ovarian cancer is a relatively common cancer problem, and there are many methods to treat ovarian cancer in current clinical medicine. Let’s take a look at the targeted drugs specifically used to treat ovarian cancer.

1. Niraparib. This drug is actually a poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitor. If ovarian cancer patients take this drug, it can effectively inhibit the patient's body from automatically repairing the DNA damage that has already occurred, thereby successfully eliminating cancer cells in the body and effectively controlling and treating the patient's ovarian cancer.

2. Rucapanib. If the body of an ovarian cancer patient is more sensitive to antibiotics, the tumor can be reduced by 66% of the expected value. If the body of an ovarian cancer patient is slow to respond to medication, the tumor will shrink by about 25% of the expected value. If ovarian cancer patients have little response to medication, the expected tumor shrinkage is essentially zero. If the patient has undergone chemotherapy, the positive rate of gene mutation detection in advanced ovarian cancer is about 50%. From these clinical data, we can see that for most ovarian cancer patients, the targeted drug rucaparib is still very effective.

3. Olaparib. Olaparib actually belongs to the same class of inhibitors as niraparib. After patients take this drug, it can directly target tumor cells in the body, thereby gradually shrinking the tumor and achieving the therapeutic effect expected by the doctor.

The above are three types of imported ovarian cancer targeted drugs commonly used in clinical practice. No matter which drug patients use to treat ovarian cancer, they can generally achieve a certain therapeutic effect. However, there will be certain differences in the treatment effects after use for different patients, which is closely related to the patient's physical factors. In addition, patients may experience some side effects when using this type of drug, but there is no need to worry about these reactions as long as they follow the dosage prescribed by the doctor.
