Many female friends will experience cervical inflammation. So are cervicitis and cervical erosion the same? If we want to understand whether cervical erosion and cervicitis are the same, we must first understand the concepts and symptoms of the two.

In this regard, gynecological experts said that cervicitis does not necessarily mean cervical erosion, but incomplete treatment of acute cervicitis can lead to cervical erosion. In addition to affecting women's pregnancy, cervicitis may also lead to cancer. Therefore, it is recommended that patients choose a regular hospital for thorough treatment as soon as possible. Cervical erosion and cervicitis are different. Cervical erosion is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis.

Cervicitis, also known as cervicitis, is the most common type of inflammation of the female reproductive organs, with a high incidence rate, accounting for more than half of married women. Since the cervix is located at a connecting position, cervicitis is no trivial matter. Since there is a certain relationship between cervicitis and cervical cancer, cervicitis adds an extra layer of horror.

Among the female reproductive organs, the cervix connects to the uterus above and the vagina below, and is located at a connecting position. Anatomically, it is part of the uterus. The cervix is connected to the uterus like an inverted bottle, so some people refer to it as a "bottleneck." This bottleneck plays an important role. It is not only an important organ for reproductive physiology and reproductive endocrine function, but also an important barrier to prevent vaginal pathogens from invading the uterine cavity.

Are female cervicitis and cervical erosion the same? Cervicitis is medically divided into acute cervicitis and chronic cervicitis. Improper or incomplete treatment of acute cervicitis may lead to chronic cervicitis. Chronic cervicitis is the most common type of inflammation of the female reproductive organs, with a high incidence rate, accounting for more than half of married women. The main manifestations are: varying degrees of erosion, hypertrophy, congestion, and edema of the cervix, sometimes hard in texture, sometimes with polyps, lacerations, and cervical gland cysts; increased vaginal secretions, which are milky white and mucous, sometimes light yellow and purulent, accompanied by bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse. When inflammation involves the connective tissue under the bladder, urinary urgency, pain, and frequency may occur. If the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be pain in the lumbar region, lower abdominal pain, etc. The thick and purulent secretions of the cervix are not conducive to sperm penetration and can cause infertility.

In the above article, we introduced that the female cervix needs special care. Female friends should know some knowledge about the cervix, especially some cervical diseases, which is conducive to the prevention and treatment of cervical diseases. The above article introduced in detail the difference between cervical erosion and cervicitis. I believe everyone should now know whether cervical erosion and cervicitis are the same.
