IDC: Global tablet shipments fell 19.1% year-on-year in Q1 2023

According to recent news, the consumer electronics industry was generally sluggish in the first half of the year, with sales/shipments of mobile phones, PCs, tablets, smart wearable devices, etc. all experiencing a sharp decline.

Data from IDC shows that in the first quarter, global tablet shipments fell by 19.1% year-on-year, and total shipments returned to the level of the first quarter of 2019.

Among the TOP5, Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, and Amazon all experienced double-digit year-on-year declines. Only Huawei performed relatively stable, with shipments declining in the single digits.

Because Huawei's decline was below the average, its shipment share increased compared with the same period last year, and its ranking jumped from fifth to third.

The agency pointed out that Huawei's MatePad SE 10.4-inch and MatePad 11-inch have been widely welcomed by consumers in the global market.

In comparison, Amazon's tablet shipments plummeted 62% in the third quarter, and Lenovo's also fell sharply by 37%.
