E-cigarettes have never been a fashionable item, and their hypocrisy is gradually eroding teenagers

Stay away from tobacco, start by staying away from e-cigarettes.

On March 22, my country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicited opinions from the public on the revision of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Tobacco Monopoly Law."

In this revision of the regulations, there is a newly added policy that has caused countless related companies to "bow down".

"New tobacco products such as electronic cigarettes shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of these Regulations on cigarettes."

Prior to this, e-cigarettes had been in a "three-no" state. That is, no regulations, no supervision, and no restrictions. This new regulation officially puts e-cigarettes under special legal supervision. On the day the new regulations came out, the stock prices of the e-cigarette industry also began to plummet. The market value of the largest e-cigarette company evaporated by more than 90 billion overnight! More than 600 e-cigarette brands will be affected.

The original intention of electronic cigarette design was to help smokers quit smoking, but in recent years it has become a "fashion item" for many users, especially young people. It uses the gimmick of "health" to pull countless young people into a dangerous vortex, but these electronic cigarette users know nothing about it. They are just blindly immersed in the coolness, fashion, trend and pseudo-health of electronic cigarettes.

On some websites, such seemingly cool videos of blowing smoke circles have been played millions of times, attracting countless people to try e-cigarettes.

Among these people, teenagers are a huge group.

According to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of American middle school students who smoked e-cigarettes increased by 1.5 million in 2018, an increase of about 71% from 2017.

my country's National Health Commission also estimated in 2019 that approximately 10 million people aged 15 and above in China use e-cigarettes.

Compared to traditional tobacco, the e-cigarette industry is more open. There are hundreds of different e-cigarette brands and products on the market. But their principles are the same: they all evaporate liquid e-liquid or e-liquid through electronic heating to form smoke that is inhaled into the body. In fact, it is more addictive and more dangerous than traditional tobacco.

E-cigarettes also contain nicotine, which is more likely to cause addiction

The World Health Organization calls e-cigarettes "electronic nicotine delivery systems." To put it more bluntly, e-cigarettes actually give you nicotine.

The harm of nicotine is well known. It is toxic, addictive, inhibits the brain development of fetuses and children, and is a clear carcinogen according to the World Health Organization. The above harms will affect the human body even if only a small amount is ingested. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mentioned in a related article that the human brain will not mature until the age of 25, and consuming nicotine too early will cause serious harm to the development of the brain.

Did you know that the nicotine content in e-cigarettes depends entirely on the type of e-liquid used by the merchant? In other words, the nicotine content inhaled by e-cigarettes can be high or low.

The safety of flavors in e-cigarette liquids is unknown

Electronic cigarettes have been in a "three-no" state before, so many places have not perfected the laws to ban electronic cigarettes. This has led to many electronic cigarette businesses to put out attractive advertisements, claiming that they are safer than traditional tobacco.

But is it really safe? In order to attract young people, merchants add various candy and snack flavors to the e-liquid. It is difficult to determine whether these added flavors have undergone rigorous testing. Moreover, some flavors, even if they are safe to use in food and cosmetics, are still unknown if they are safe after entering the respiratory system. For example, menthol.

Therefore, using e-cigarettes undoubtedly faces various unknown toxic risks.

People who use e-cigarettes are more likely to use traditional tobacco

Electronic cigarettes were originally a substitute for tobacco, but in fact tobacco can also be a substitute for electronic cigarettes.

A survey by Dartmouth College showed that in 2015, 2,070 smokers in the United States successfully quit smoking with the help of e-cigarettes, but at the same time, 168,000 teenagers who had never smoked started smoking after trying e-cigarettes for the first time.

my country's 2019 315 Gala also disclosed the risks of e-cigarettes, pointing out that teenagers may further use traditional tobacco through the use of e-cigarettes.

In fact, not to mention that teenagers are easily blinded by the hypocrisy of electronics, even adults cannot escape the "health trap" of electronic forgery.

In order to avoid more "tobacco victims" in the future and create a healthy and smoke-free environment for young people, please resist the popularity of e-cigarettes from today and support the country's regulation of e-cigarettes!
