Is 84 disinfectant suitable for home use?

84 disinfectant is mainly used on the ground, walls, doors and windows in hospitals and public places. It is highly corrosive and not suitable for home disinfection. If you have a car at home, you can use 0.5% peracetic acid solution to spray and disinfect the outer surface of the car and the space inside the car. It should be noted that since peracetic acid is corrosive and bleaching, it is best not to use it to soak and wash clothes at home. When using 84 disinfectant, it must be diluted with 200 times of water, and it is quite corrosive. If there are no patients with infectious diseases such as hepatitis and tuberculosis at home, it is best not to use 84 disinfectant. However, the washing machine at home can be disinfected with 84 disinfectant every 2-3 months.

84 Disinfectant Disposal and Storage

1. Operation precautions: Closed operation, full ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear direct gas masks (half masks), chemical safety glasses, anti-corrosion work clothes, and rubber gloves. Prevent steam from leaking into the workplace air. Avoid contact with alkalis. Load and unload gently during transportation to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Equip with leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may have harmful residues.

2. Storage precautions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 30°C. Store separately from acids and avoid mixing. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate containment materials.

3. Wear protective masks and gloves. 84 disinfectant is corrosive and irritating to the skin and oral mucosa. If you come into direct contact with the original liquid, you will feel slight pain.

4. Pay attention to the three elements of effective disinfection. Disinfection method, disinfectant concentration, and action time are the three elements of effective disinfection, and none of them can be missing. You must carefully read the instruction manual before use, and prepare the corresponding concentration of disinfectant according to the instruction manual based on the actual use. The higher the concentration of disinfectant, the better. Disinfectant with too high a concentration cannot achieve effective disinfection and will cause environmental pollution.

5. Organic matter affects the disinfection effect. Sodium hypochlorite is easily affected by organic matter (such as blood, body fluids, etc.), which reduces the bactericidal ability and affects the disinfection effect. If organic matter exists, it needs to be cleaned before disinfection.

6. Remember to rinse thoroughly after disinfection. The residue of disinfectant will cause certain harm to the human body, so after using disinfectant to disinfect tableware, tea sets, kitchen cutting boards, children's toys and other items, be sure to rinse them repeatedly with clean water.
