On the other hand, look at the peanut shells and peanut kernels. Pull a few peanuts around the plot. If the peanut shells look hard and plump with clear lines, they are almost ripe. Also peel a few and see if the kernels are plump and not so juicy, then they are ripe. If the peanut kernels are tender and small and taste sweet, then they are not ripe.
