What tests are needed at 8 weeks of pregnancy

After pregnancy, all tests that need to be done during pregnancy must have established time requirements. If the pregnant woman misses the best time for testing, then all tests are unnecessary. Even if they are done, there will be some errors in the test results. So, what tests do you need to do at eight weeks of pregnancy?

Thyroid hormone test. During pregnancy, due to the increased demand for thyroid hormones in pregnant women, the amount of iodine needed by pregnant women will increase significantly. For pregnant women with a single baby, this demand will increase by about 50%, and mothers with multiple babies will need even more. If iodine intake is insufficient during pregnancy, hypothyroidism is very likely to occur during pregnancy.

Clinical experiments have shown that pregnant women with different types of hypothyroidism will significantly increase miscarriage and complications during pregnancy. More importantly, maternal hypothyroidism can cause fetal brain development disorders, resulting in a 10-point decrease in offspring's IQ.

B-ultrasound examination. B-ultrasound can determine whether the pregnant woman is having a normal pregnancy. If it is an intrauterine pregnancy, the exact date of delivery can be calculated from this; if any abnormalities are found in the pregnancy, such as ectopic pregnancy or hydatidiform mole, they must be properly handled once discovered. B-ultrasound examination can also determine the number of test tube embryos.

Through B-ultrasound examination, the condition of the uterus and its appendages can be clearly observed. If there are ovarian cysts, bilateral fallopian tube masses, etc., they can be dealt with in time and symptomatic treatment can be given. After this stage, the uterus has enlarged significantly and the mass may be obscured and undetectable.

Common problems in B-ultrasound examination

You do not need to be on an empty stomach when doing B-ultrasound, but if it is an early B-ultrasound examination, the pregnant woman needs to hold her urine in advance so that the picture can be seen clearly. In addition, if you are a pregnant woman in the late stage, you must make sure you have finished your meal before the test, because testing on an empty stomach will cause the fetus to not cooperate and the data will not be clear.
