Vitamin D deficiency in adult women

Vitamin D deficiency in adult women

Vitamin D is an important element in maintaining bone growth. When the human body lacks vitamin D, children will develop rickets and adults will increase the risk of osteoporosis. Eighty to ninety percent of the vitamin D in the human body comes from the sun, and it may be insufficient to take in vitamin D only through diet. The clinical symptoms of vitamin D deficiency include intermittent pain in the lower back and legs, which is usually aggravated by activities; cramps in the limbs and legs, osteoporosis and deformation, and easy fractures.

1. Bone pain: If adults do not have enough vitamin D, they are very likely to suffer from symptoms such as bone and muscle pain. When they wake up, their joints will be stiff.

2. Problems of being overweight and obese: Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. When the human body has too much fat, it will easily dilute the concentration of vitamin D in the blood. That is to say, the more fat in the body, the lower the vitamin D in the blood. Therefore, people who are overweight and obese may need to take more vitamin D.

3. Often sweat all over the head: When the human body lacks vitamin D, the head often sweats all over. Sweating very easily is usually the first symptom of vitamin D deficiency.

4. Depression: Vitamin D can help increase the concentration of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which can make people more optimistic and happier. A small study in 1998 showed that healthy adults were more likely to have negative reactions in the winter if they took a small amount of vitamin D supplements, but a larger study found that this trick didn't work for women over 70.

5. Gastrointestinal problems: Patients with Crohn's disease and inflammatory gastrointestinal disease have abnormal gastrointestinal function, which can easily affect the digestion and absorption of fat. Of course, they are also more likely to have vitamin D deficiency. These groups should pay more attention to the intake of vitamin D.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone that not only insufficient vitamin D can cause problems, but excessive intake of vitamin D can also have adverse effects on the human body. Too much vitamin D may cause constipation, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, increased blood potassium concentration and other symptoms. If menopausal women take a lot of high-quality protein and vitamin D, the risk of kidney stones may increase. If you want to take vitamin D supplements, it is best to seek advice from a professional nutritionist or doctor.

Patients often suffer from symptoms such as easy sweating, easy fright, large fontanelle, delayed tooth eruption and occipital baldness. The patient has been ill for more than 3 months and has developed a ping-pong head, that is, there is a feeling of ping-pong balls when pressing the back of the head on both sides; the intersection of the ribs and cartilage on both sides of the front chest bulges out to form a "rib bead string"; the lower edge of the ribs is turned outward; the chest protrudes forward to form a "pigeon chest"; the spine is kyphotic to form a hunchback; the legs of both lower limbs are bent outward to form an "O" shape or inward to form an "X" shape; the wrists and ankles are rounded and bulging to form "bracelets" or "anklets", etc.; the abdominal muscles are weak and bloated. Patients have slow development of disease, low immunity, are susceptible to pneumonia, diarrhea and other diseases, have a high mortality rate, and are very prone to fractures.
