What is the reason for vaginal odor?

Women's physiological parts are very prone to problems because they are affected by the special conditions of their physiological structure. The most common problem of female genitals is the appearance of odor, which causes great trouble to women's lives. In order to deal with the situation of strong vaginal odor, you need to understand the specific cause. Let’s take a look at the reasons why women have a strong odor in their vagina. I hope everyone can understand it.

Normally, there may be a certain amount of leucorrhea in the perineum and vagina, which is usually white, paste-like or egg white-like, sticky, small in amount, without any fishy smell or other peculiar smell. If there is always an odor from the vagina, it may be due to vaginitis or cervicitis. Therefore, if there is always an odor from the vagina, you need to abstain from sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, and vaginal medication for at least 24 hours.

There are generally three reasons for the odor of vaginal discharge:

1. If the leucorrhea has a fishy smell, it may be caused by infection with some anaerobic bacteria, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

2. The leucorrhea has a foul odor, is foamy, and is yellow in color. Itching of the private parts often occurs, which may be caused by vaginitis caused by Trichomonas infection.

3. If the leucorrhea has a fishy smell, it may be vaginitis, which is caused by Haemophilus influenzae. If it is accompanied by itching, pain, moisture and discomfort, you must see a doctor.

The odor of leucorrhea can be divided into foul odor and fishy odor according to the different smells.

The fishy smell is mainly related to vaginitis caused by anaerobic bacteria, Trichomonas, and Haemophilus infection.

Foul odor is often related to genital inflammation or tumors. If middle-aged or elderly women have foul-smelling leucorrhea and it contains blood, they must be alert to malignant tumors.

Regardless of the cause, if the leucorrhea has an abnormal odor, we should seek medical treatment even if we are not gynecologists. Never take any medication or lotion on your own.
