Biopsy, also called a biopsy, is a type of surgical pathology examination and an important part of diagnostic pathology. Things to note before doing a biopsy, such as cervical biopsy, need to be performed within one week after the menstruation ends, because the endometrium is thinner at this time, so the lesion can be observed more clearly. At the same time, sexual intercourse is prohibited after menstruation and three days before surgery. Things to note before cervical biopsy 1) Hysteroscopy is generally best performed within 3 to 7 days after the end of menstruation. Because the endometrium is thin, with less mucus and bleeding during this period, uterine cavity lesions are easy to see. In addition, it is not easy for the overly thick endometrium to pass through the fallopian tube into the abdominal cavity. 2) Sexual intercourse is prohibited 3 days after menstruation or before surgery. 3) If necessary, the doctor will remind you to hold your urine before the operation to facilitate B-ultrasound monitoring during the operation. 4) The following preoperative examinations can be performed as needed: infectious disease examination (hepatitis B surface antigen, HIVHCVRPR), liver function, kidney function, electrocardiogram, blood and urine routine tests, four coagulation tests, leucorrhea routine tests, etc. 5) Blood pressure, pulse, and body temperature need to be measured before surgery to understand the heart and lung condition and vaginal cleanliness. 6) Examination should not be performed during pregnancy to avoid adverse consequences. 7) If uterine cancer has been confirmed, it is not advisable to check it to avoid the spread of cancer cells. 8) It is not advisable to check when there is acute genital inflammation to prevent the spread of inflammation. 9) Generally, hysteroscopy should not be performed when the lesion is active or bleeding. Unless medically necessary. When is a cervical biopsy necessary? 1. Increased leucorrhea with a fishy odor Many women think they have vaginitis when they experience this symptom, but treatment is ineffective. Cervical cancer can also be manifested by increased and foul-smelling vaginal discharge, which can be differentially diagnosed through cervical biopsy. 2. Irregular vaginal bleeding There are many reasons for irregular vaginal bleeding, and cervical lesions cannot be ruled out. Women who have this symptom for a long time should get checked out as soon as possible to see if it is caused by cancer. 3. Postmenopausal vaginal bleeding It is common in elderly women who have vaginal bleeding after menopause. This is a very dangerous signal and you must go to the hospital for examination if you experience this phenomenon. 4. Contact bleeding (bleeding after sexual intercourse and gynecological examination) Although traumatic bleeding cannot be ruled out, it may also be caused by cervical cancer. 5. Cervical inflammation that cannot be cured for a long time Cervical erosion is often a physiological phenomenon (displacement of columnar epithelium), but early cervical cancer may also appear as erosion, and screening and identification are performed based on cervical cytology. 6. Gynecological examination revealed that the cervix was hard It may be a sign of cancer. |
