Is gonococcus detected in routine leucorrhea examination?

Examination of leucorrhea is an essential part of gynecological examination. By examining leucorrhea, it can be determined whether there is any abnormality in the uterus or cervix, or whether there is gynecological inflammation. If you cannot make a specific judgment by checking for gonococci through leucorrhea examination, you can diagnose gonococci by checking cervical scraping, which is currently the better way to check for gonococci.

Generally speaking, routine examination of leucorrhea cannot determine gonococcal infection, but can only detect Trichomonas fungi or bacterial vaginitis. Therefore, if you want to check whether you carry gonococci in your body, you need to go to the hospital for examination. At this time, remind the patient that when you arrive at the hospital, the doctor will suggest that you should do a cervical secretion examination, a smear Gram-stain examination or a cervical secretion culture examination. These examination items are all good ways to check for gonococci. In terms of examination time, a specific analysis needs to be made based on the patient's condition. Don't be too anxious. After a period of analysis and testing, the condition can be accurately judged.

Gram-negative diplococci mean gonococci, and although leucorrhea examination cannot detect any disease, there are many other ways to diagnose the condition. Patients do not need to worry too much in the early stages. Whether it is a bacterial infection or a viral infection, as long as the correct method is used, it can help patients diagnose the condition. If the body really carries gonococci, we can treat the condition through medication or life care.

Of course, you need to consult your local hospital for the specific treatment plan. I would like to remind everyone that during the treatment period after suffering from this disease, it is best not to have any sexual intercourse to avoid cross infection.

Although a small amount of gonococci can be detected in leucorrhea, it is not possible to completely determine the relationship between the production of gonococci and leucorrhea. It may be a substance carried by the body, and detailed analysis is still needed to determine the condition. Moreover, gonococci are an infectious reproductive system disease, and we must pay special attention to this reproductive system disease to avoid more serious infections.

Main methods of testing for gonorrhea

1. Culture examination

Gonorrhea culture is an important supporting evidence for diagnosis. The culture method is a more sensitive method for male and female patients with mild or no symptoms. As long as the culture is positive, the diagnosis can be confirmed.

2. Smear examination

Take the patient's urethral secretions, do Gram staining, and find Gram-negative diplococci in the polymorphonuclear leukocytes. For patients with simple gonorrhea with a large amount of purulent secretions, the positive rate of smear is about 90%. For patients with chronic gonorrhea with less secretion, the positive rate is low, so prostate massage fluid should be obtained to increase the detection rate.

3. Antigen detection

There are two types: one is solid-phase enzyme immunoassay, which can be used to detect gonococcal antigens in clinical specimens. The second is direct immunofluorescence test: direct immunofluorescence test is performed by detecting monoclonal antibodies against gonococcal outer membrane protein I. The former can be used to diagnose gonococcal infection in women, but the latter test cannot be recommended yet.

4. Drug sensitivity test

After positive culture, further drug sensitivity test was performed. Use the disk diffusion method for sensitivity testing or the agar plate dilution method to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) to guide the selection of antibiotics.
