What does a breast cyst mean?

More and more women have begun to pay attention to breast health issues, and women's breasts are also an area prone to lesions, most of which are breast diseases. Especially for breastfeeding women, the probability of developing breast diseases is higher than that of normal women. Presumably, pregnant women will not be unfamiliar with breast cysts, so what exactly does breast cysts mean?

Breast cyst is a type of breast hyperplasia, and its full name is cystic breast hyperplasia. This disease is one of the common and frequently occurring diseases among women, and is more common in women aged 25 to 45. It is essentially a disorder of the normal breast structure caused by physiological hyperplasia and incomplete involution. In our country, cystic changes are rare, and most cases are glandular hyperplasia, so it is often called "mastopathy." The World Health Organization (WHO) collectively refers to this condition as "benign breast dysplasia." The risk of malignant transformation of this disease is 2 to 4 times higher than that of normal women, and the clinical symptoms and signs are sometimes confused with breast cancer.

Breast hyperplasia is lobular hyperplasia. Clinically, cystic breast adenosis, chronic breast disease, chronic cystic mastitis, breast dysplasia, and cystic breast hyperplasia are all breast hyperplasia diseases. It is a common benign lesion of the breast. It is more common in middle-aged women, and most lobular hyperplasia is related to endocrine imbalance in the body. It is not inflammation, nor is it a tumor, but a physiological response of the body to endocrine imbalance and a disorder of the normal structure of the breast.

Some patients experience breast tenderness, tingling or dull pain, which is related to the menstrual cycle. Flaky, granular or nodular lumps can be felt, which are tough in texture. Breast B-ultrasound or X-ray can be used for differential diagnosis. It is the most common breast disease in women, and its incidence ranks first among breast diseases. In recent years, the incidence of this disease has been increasing year by year, and the age of patients has been getting younger and younger. According to surveys, about 70% to 80% of women have varying degrees of breast hyperplasia, which is more common in women aged 25-45.
