How long will it take to give birth after mild uterine contractions?

Uterine contractions are a symptom before a pregnant woman gives birth, and this symptom usually occurs in the late pregnancy. Some pregnant women with special physical conditions may experience them in the middle of pregnancy. However, the uterine contractions that occur in the middle of pregnancy are all false contractions. During real contractions, pregnant women will feel abdominal pain and can clearly feel the uterus contracting. So how long will it take for a pregnant woman to give birth after a slight uterine contraction?

1. How long will the contractions take to result in childbirth?

Uterine contraction is one of the symptoms before expectant mothers give birth. When uterine contractions occur, the number and time of contractions can be recorded. If your contractions become more regular and you feel you are about to give birth, call the hospital. If the contractions become very frequent, almost every 5 to 6 minutes, or the pain increases with each contraction, you should go to the hospital immediately to prepare for delivery.

Generally speaking, the first labor process often lasts within 12 to 14 hours, and you can choose to wait for a few hours at home. You can walk around your home slowly and take a break when you feel you need it.

In addition, in the last three months of pregnancy, expectant mothers may sometimes experience false labor. It is difficult for inexperienced expectant mothers to distinguish between true and false labor, but false labor is not a sign of labor, and it is difficult to estimate how long it will take for false labor to occur. If any of these symptoms, such as spotting, water breaking, or labor pains, occur, these are generally signs that labor is imminent, and you can go to the hospital to wait for delivery. If not, observe the contractions further.

The interval between contractions is about ten minutes, and they will gradually become more and more frequent. It is hard to say when the baby will come out, as it varies from person to person. For some it may take a few hours, while for others it may take even longer. This is no joke, so you have to be prepared at all times.

2. Signs of labor

Sign of labor 1: Regular uterine contractions

If the uterine contractions show the following conditions, it indicates that labor is imminent, and they are regular and the time intervals are getting shorter and shorter. Generally, they should start out within 20-30 minutes, with uterine contractions lasting about 20-30 seconds. Then the intervals between uterine contractions gradually shorten to about 5-6 minutes. The expectant mother should immediately contact the expectant father and family and rush to the hospital.

Labor sign 2: Bloody sight

Generally, 24-48 hours before delivery, the cervix begins to dilate slightly, separating the fetal membranes from the uterine wall. The capillaries will rupture, and a small amount of blood will be discharged through the vagina and mixed with the mucus in the cervical canal. This bloody secretion from the vagina is what we commonly call "reddish show".

Labor sign three: Water breaking

Rupture of membranes refers to the natural rupture of the amniotic membrane outside the fetus, and the amniotic fluid flows out. You will generally feel a warm current flowing out of the vagina, or a moist feeling.

No matter what the occasion, you should try to lie flat to reduce the outflow of amniotic fluid. Lie down flat and call an ambulance. If it is a breech presentation or the fetal head has not entered the pelvis, you must remain flat on the way to the hospital.

This article introduces in detail how long uterine contractions will take before delivery. This is different for different pregnant women, and there are relatively large differences, so it is difficult to say. If you have contractions, it means you are about to give birth. Especially if you experience the symptoms of labor mentioned in this article, it means that delivery is about to come.
